I am just getting ready for some Byk and ATR and hoping for a dry track today at the Big A.

Had a friend reach out to me and was kind enough to take some time to point out a few things to me i over looked in my decision and appreciated him taking that time.
Lets talk TS and their promos...Just saw their new one which is 12k for 12 days or something to that. Read the rules and like most promos they have they could not make them more complicated for the avg horse player. The person who is in charge of these over there at TS is flat out stealing from the Co with such short sided ideas and thinking. If you can have a Pigskin & Ponies promo why would you not incorporate that throughout the season maybe a carryover pot with Co getting their cut off top to roll to next week if not hit.
I understand the business model is to make profit for the company period but instead of making promos as complicated and who the hell wants to throw a grand at a chance to get $50? Sure makes the Company $$ but in short run because i am of the opinion you can make 10x that with a fair and reachable promo and one that would be of any interest to the casual player.
Give me a budget of points and a company expectation of profit and some leeway and i would be like Nino Brown bringing crack into the hood. I would have the most religious in Ky checking their Iphone during mass not to miss out on a TS promo. Did i mention HDTV yet?

Redskins LoL...Bad when i have to put $$ on a game and i do not care enough W or L so i listen to the radio broadcast...I just lost that loving feeling when it comes to NFL and feels funny to admit. Horses i get frustrated with the people factor in it but i love horses and horse racing period!
Had a back and forth with Caton Bredar on Night School a couple weeks back and i think i ruffled her feathers some but she was polite enough to respond but it was her response that i thought i was on to my point of older thinking. I asked because several of us in NS always considered M,T dark days as our days off but yet there is a full line up of B,C tracks running. Not wanting to wager on these like the majority of us in NS that i asked why would you not want to put your best product forward every day? Her answer was it might not be whats best for the industry which i do understand her point for local horse people employment etc that goes with it and i am ALL for that but i think an A track could be offered daily and incorporate some staggered post so whoever was running was the center of attention so you were not competing with one another for the $$ but extracting it to each individual track. Now you have horse players who want to play 7 days a week which is the majority of us because horse players are a certain type of ignorant
and we are extremely competitive and this could be exploited in several promos. I like Caton but i know where her and Doug come from so i understood where her answer came from also.
Believe i heard somewhere that a wise man said that if you do the same thing over and over and expect a different result is called insanity...Well this person must not of ever dieted or worked out ever in his life
Never as bright as you think you are and same thinking brings same results.
Is it Wednesday yet? Cmon already i can only LOL at that Col Peters video so long.

But racing is still 'old school' gambling, and it always will be.
Can anyone here remember racing without inter- track.
Just 8 races for the day. Then you go home and wait until tomorrow.
And you were forever tilted if your horse wins at juicy odds on a weekday but you've got a job where you can't get away. Good Times.

Hey LW nice post and old school will be the end of the game imo. Had no idea this was going on and this is perfect timing for my soapboxing last couple. I will post the link and i can not wait till everyone to read it before i respond because it is so LOL in many ways because of old thinking.

Ok i only know Byk thru NS and i like his program and he is prepared and professional. This said he wants to have a tax free Tuesday or a day where the handle is less for the week. Nice idea if you accept the business model and accept i will not put my best product forward because i hate $$ obv. Why is the handle lower that day Steve? Thats right the product being put forth period,it does not have to be this way. Good idea for an old and the most silly business plan i could ever think of.
Kaplan suggest horse racing on ice or on the beaches bring the horses to the people. I am sure owners are lining up with their 300K Tapit offs to throw skates on the sob and race over a pond or catch a 6f looking out my window. Might be a super nice guy hell i do not know but if it were ever between him and i driving i am strapping his azz in the car seat and i am driving LOL. This was suppose to be serious ideas and the panel is same ring of people as well from the same thinking except for Ms Zimmerman.
She suggest for open mic's between stewards and more transparency in the process which in theory is good but not sure that would help lessen the bitterness of ripping up a ticket that a horse finished across the line 1st but DQ'd because of a jockey infraction. Why do the betters get penalized? We didnt do chit wrong but back the winning horse. Why dont we start to let results stand and fine and suspend jocks for herding and other obv unsafe riding and trips. This will clear up quickly and the need for stewards much less important on a daily basis.

Yes Whopper please..Sir it is Tuesday they will not be available again until Wednesday as always......McDonalds could not afford to have 2 seperate grills to make breakfast available all day EVEN THOUGH the customers demanded this for soooo long...McDonalds business tanks and by an act of God they are able to provide it 24/7 now because it is WHAT YOU customers wanted...MF'r please LoL its about the $$ and always is! Except the horse business model ;]
