Not sure how much im losing in translation here, but i think drugs are rampid in North American racing. They certainly add to the breakdowns for sure. Generally this doesnt happen with the trainer that administered the drugs, but usually when the horse gets claimed or goes to a new trainer is when the breakdowns happen bcos the horse is withdrawing & not getting those drugs to mask the pain anymore.
With all that being said, its alot easier to spot the jabbers(trainers that inject illegal race day drugs) these days & u jus have to b aware of it when they have a runner in a race ur betting. Only problem is, they dont jab every horse everytime, so u dont know for sure when to bet them. Imho no trainer that has more than a 100 starters/year should have a win % higher than 22%. Its impossible for a large outfit with that many starters /year to win higher than 25% without cheating. I do think that trainers with a limited amount of horses can train around 25-30% jus bcos they can spot there horses better & b more selective on which races to run in, where as a Steve Assmusen, or Scott Lake cant b that selective cos they have so many damn horses & they have to run them. For example, a guy like Johny Sheppard, or Charley Lopestri, those guys are horseman & i firmly believe they do things the right way & there able to win at high %'s bcos they spot well.
But ya drugs are def an attribute to spills in american racing & its def a problem. Only cure is a unified governing body for horse racing that oversee's all jurisdictions.
