You should go home, sign on, and bust his roll. Then tell him he should have taken your advice.
07-06-2008 , 01:57 AM
he was playing at my place. in any event, it's funny to watch him spew and then get in really spots where he has no idea what to do and not say anything.

Is this a bad call down against sweet? Things to consider are that he seems to get extra spastic with deeper stacks and his range is pretty polarized here and not well balanced. He doesn't value bet very well imo especially given his image as a spewtard.

I remember seeing a HH with sweet doing that showing up with a random low PP, so probably fine? Though def high variance.

meh, i think the turn call is baaaaaaad vs him. but if you call the turn i guess you gotta call the river. actually nevermind just fold the river too

You think the turn is a fold? I just have a hard time folding to him and figured he could be barreling with flush/straight draws.

I had this problem, no joke, with my Dad. After repeatedly offering slight bits of advice and getting waved away (he once went mad at me for making him lose a stack with AA all in pre flop, he "Wouldn't have played it that way"). I gave up. It was so frustrating trying to explain the most obvious and basic poker concepts to an otherwise very intelligent man and them just flying over his head. I never tried to say anything complicated just like, don't open limp Q5s UTG, don't slow play a set on a two flush board vs 5 players etc. He busted his roll eventually after a 20 buy in downswing + flipping for the rest of it.

He watched me play a few times, in a $30 SNG I was shoving every single hand on the bubble and he declared me the worst player ever "Why don't you see a flop? That's not poker. I don't know how you win at those." "Erm well if you knew ICM.....nevermind"

He also laughed at me because I went broke for 100 buy ins with AKs vs a total LAgtard. "Another overplayed AK, got what you deserved" (villain had Aq) I really should have challenged him HU4Rollz eh?

Tonight for my last session, I played 6870 hands. I got 6676 points. So that's .97 points/hand. That's a little less than normal (considering the double). For the year (without the double) I'm averaging .51/hand.

Live poker is awesome, imo.

Played 2/5 for like 7 hours and dropped $500, then managed to drop like another $400 shortstacking 1/3 at Snipe and super-drunk RiverFenix's table. I think the 2/5 losses were just from not ever winning a single big pot. The biggest win I can remember is a soul-owning where some kid to my right limped the 2nd hand in a row and I raised him the 2nd hand in a row with AThh to $25, he calls. Flop J96ss, check check. Turn 9x, he check-calls $30. River 8x, he donks $60 - wait wat? I think for awhile and say "this is probably the stupidest call I've ever made" and call. He tables A5ss, ship the pot. His girlfriend was sitting behind him so he had to explained how badly he just got owned to her.

My table eventually breaks so I go to play with Snipe and RiverFenix at 1/3 and buy for $100. I get down to about $60 before RF opens, a couple people call, Snipe RRs to $40, I shove AA for $60, some guy cold calls, Snipe calls, flop is checked around and the other guy bets the turn K and Snipe folds, and I hold vs his QQ and triple up to almost $200.

Not long after, I get 66 and RiverFenix opens to like $12 or something, a few ppl call, I call. Flop 643, checked to me on the button, I bet $25 into $30something, he raises to $75, I shove for almost $200, he calls. A5 gets there.

I rebuy for $100, get JJ in pre against an even shorter stack than mine who shoves for like $45 with A2s, I lose.

I tilt-shove KT on a J99 flop when some stupid **** donks for $10 into a $30 pot after I had minraised pre, her 97 holds.

I open QQ to $10 early, 4-5 people call. I shove Jxx flop for a small overbet of $60 or something, get called by AJ and lose.

I open 99, a bunch of people call. The same **** from the 97 hand donks for $25 on a 876cc flop and calls my shove to $80 while a super hot girl (pics will be coming as Snipe got her Facebook info and is friending her) who had absolutely no business being at a poker table by herself at 6am (especially when she's not even very good as her preflop call here shows) cold-calls the shove for like $30. I lose the main pot to super hot chick's Q2cc (runner runner clubs obv) but manage to hold against stupid ****'s T6.

So yeah, poker is ****ing stupid, and I have to wake up in like 4-6 hours to make the 8 hour drive home.
