hmmm....u playing stars and FT same time or what. I'm assuming you have same SN at stars?
12-14-2007 , 06:45 AM
I met up with Snipe tonight in SF to play a private donkament game with some dudes he knows through work. $40 buyin, like 3 tables, $40 rebuys for first hour, start with 2k in chips and 50/100 blinds, new levels (1/2->1.5/3->2/4->3/6->4/8->5/10->repeat) every 20 mins, players are god awful. A couple at my table could have used cards telling them what beats what, and in pretty much every hand people had to be told "you can fold or call X amount or raise." Standard.

I get down to ~1200 chips and flop a flush with 82dd on a A54ddd flop. I bet 500, one person calls in position. Turn 9d, I check he instachecks, river blank, I check he instashoves I fold. Standard. He later said he had the 7 of diamonds...is he bluffing? Valuebetting? Who the **** knows? Does he even know? God.

~700 chips, w/in the next orbit I shove pre (remember, 50/100 blinds) and get called by JTs and lose. REBUY!

~2000 chips, I open to 400 UTG with KTs, like four people call. Flop T93dd. Some dude in blinds shoves for like 1200, next dude calls, I shove, previous dude obv calls for 400 more, my KT holds up vs QT (all-in #1) and QJ (the caller). The QJ bitches about how he was such a favorite. Pokerstoving now, I had 51% equity and he had 39%. Typical.

77 in MP. UTG (JTs dude) minraises to 400, a bunch of ppl call, I call. Flop 763r, jackpot. Dude to my right bets 800 into the large pot, I make it like 2500 or something, everyone folds. Before folding he looked at me and was like "Nines? Ace-seven?" God, this isn't the ****ing WPT. I am very very sad that he is doing this. I am very very sad that nobody called me.

After the hand, someone who folded pre grabbed his hand out of the muck to show everyone that he had pocket 3's and zomg would have had a set. God, if only you knew. God, I run bad.

Now with lots of chips, I have A4 in the blinds and a superdonk limps along with one or two others. Flop A64, I lead like 700 into 900ish pot, superdonk calls. Turn 5, I lead 1500, he calls. River 9, I put him AI for 2100 more, he snapcalls A9. Standard. Would have put me from chip leader to massive chip leader, but no, back down to almost busto I go.

43ss OTB, 150/300 blinds. Folded to me, I make it 800, BB shoves for 700 more, oops. I call, he has AK and I hit a straight to win. I would have preferred to run good in the previous pot but whatever.

I have like 6k chips or so and I'm in the BB with 200/400 blinds, down to 2 tables now, AQ in the BB. Some new dude open shoves for 1400 UTG, the guy that called my shove with JTs (I HAVE NO ****ING IDEA WHY I DID NOT THINK OF THIS DURING THE HAND) thinks for a little and calls, back to me, I puss out and fold instead of putting the calling dude in for like 5k more. Obv KJ beats K5s and I would have won with AQ.

...so, a couple orbits later when I pick up AQ in MP and the same dude minraises to $1200 UTG (minraises = totally standard for everyone in the game), I don't hesitate to shove for about 6600. Obv I get called in 2 places, by a dude in blinds with 5.something k and pocket 3's, and by the minraiser who has AK. I lose, leaving me with 300 chips.

Two hands later, with blinds at 300/600 I put my last 300 chips in with AJ. Four see the flop of like AKx, checked around, turn J, checked around, river T, someone bets, superdonk raises, great I'M SURE MY TWO PAIR IS GOOD. Q5 wins it, I'm busto.

****ing donkaments. The final pot wound up being $1440, meaning $720 for first place, $432 for second, $288 for third. Obv I run bad and get $0.

We played a cash game later and I was excited to try to get some $$ back. Snipe suggested $0.50/$1 to the 3-4 other guys playing with us and they said ok and bought in for like $20 or $40. This disappoints me greatly. So, we play ******o shortstack poker for a bit until some new guy comes and throws down $150 or so, which causes me and Snipe and one other guy at the table to dip into our wallets and throw some cash on the table to finally play a little deeper-stacked. Not really any interesting hands though, although Snipe did play a couple large pots.

Summary: Donkaments are stupid. Free pizza and beer though, so aside from the ******o poker it was fun.

Snipe's my hero.

Me? Yeah I play on both PS and FTP, sometimes at the same time. I'm dirtylobster on Stars but I go under another sn on FTP.
12-14-2007 , 07:29 AM
wow tables suck on FTPatm.

what it do?
12-14-2007 , 07:37 AM
I think it's because the software was down for a few hours, so the fish just decided to go to bed. I decided I'm not playing because the tables suck.
12-14-2007 , 07:42 AM
yeah...I saw that you stacked a donk with 57o i believe. Then i 3bet you and u folded. Then I 3bet you and you couldn't let me do it twice so you floated my cbet on the flop and I couldn't do nothin about it.

Just a quick question for the regs, i think i'm playing far too loose on the CO/BTN. My attempt to steal% is 45% (i play 27/22) over my last 1500 hands. i'll open ALL kinds of hands in lp, even total rags like 74o a fair bit of the time, and generally only slow a lot down if i'm getting 3bet light, and even then i'll probably only drop my steal % a little, but after watching some CR vids im starting to think this might be a little crazy. any advice appreciated.

thanks

Montezuma,
Are you playing well post flop with these hands? You can filter all this stuff in PT to see how youre doing with them. If you are winning and through filters it isnt just because youre running hot then you really shouldnt cut it out of your game if it works for you. A lot of the CR guys arent doing stuff like that at higher limits because theyre going to get played back at a whole lot more and when theyre at lower limits for vids theyre stressing fundamentals

Looked at PT. My BB won/ hand is .40 on the BTN, .12 in the CO, 12 in UTG+1 and .09 UTG. My PTBB over this sample size is 5 for 200NL.

Edit: WTF!!! KK is my BIGGEST loser from the blinds, closely followed by QQ. My biggest WINNER is AK, followed by AA. there's something very very strange going on. i'm probably just getting sucked out on a lot in big pots with those hands.

So pretty...some of teh example results on that page are gross, I can't help but feel bad for the deeply depressed person around hand 280k on that graph.

After careful consideration, crunching some numbers, and doing a double blind lab test I have determined that I was in fact drunk last night
