Yup, good rakeback is pretty essential. Just take aggressive shots higher if you don't mind going busto a couple times

Thanks. I will give that a try over xmas vacation. $10 is a pretty low risk trial.

Don't limp-reraise anything unless you are short-stacked and can get a healthy portion of stacks in preflop.

The literature on trips is scant, but after running a bunch of queries, I would liken AAA4s to AA72r and AAA4r to KK72r*, slightly weaker in both cases. At loose-passive tables, the gap between KK72r and AAA4r widens. A lot of AAA4r's value is tied to 3-bet immunity and being a Swiss Army knife of blocker value, both of which are less relevant against passive stations. This is part of why KKKx isn't even in the same league as AAAx, regardless of the table conditions.

*PPT's rank function rates AAA4r a lot more highly, but situationally it's wrong.

I know it's hard to define exactly hand ranges in omaha but I'd like to know on large samples of hands on my opponents what some 3bet % means and the related ranges even if not really specific. I heard somewhere than whole AAxx are the 2.5%. What 3/5/8 % stands for if we consider a non-polarized 3betting range?

In Your alls opinion, which is most profitable for time invested? Nlhe mtts and sngs, Plo8 mtts/sngs, or Plo 6 max rings??

My first week of PLO25 results are in. I ran -$300 EV, gave $80 of rake and finished down about $50ish. Pretty sick. I love the game but I am not sure I can handle the variance at this point. Losing $80 pots to rivered quads and backdoor flushes like crazy. I could easily see $1k downswings at 25PLO the way I am running right now. I now get why you all suggest 100 buyins for these games..

The good news is that in the top 20 pots I played this week I got my money in as a favorite in all but 3.

Planning to stick with 10PLO for awhile before moving up again. Might switch back to Hold'Em too if the run bad continues.

Doing some number crunching on PPT or odds oracle should answer that question. If they 3b all AAxx then its 2.5% but in reality people aren't betting every AAxx combo.

This is the wrong place for unbiased opinions, lol

Regular MTTs are pretty soft, I hear, but so is PLO cash

PPT seems to rank hands like QQJ3ds in the same category as KQJTds and AKQ3ds (top 5%). So does it make sense to follow PPT's rank function 'blindly' to construct a 3-betting range or should we exercise some caution when looking at the rank function?

Hey there,

What training websites and books that would help my 6 max game and HU PLO game? Any suggestions would be helpful.

Thanks!

@evgrinder lots of AA/KK/AKQxss type combos that rank well but don't play well in 3bet pots. Double-suited QQxx is pretty strong in HU 3bet pots 100bb deep, but KK72r not so much

@Makin: Check out the Grand Digest sticky for some external resources

Cool, so just to check for blinds vs BTN situations - we can expand our 3b range by first including ds versions of AA/KK/AKQx/QQxx? And the single suited version can be included in our flatting range?

If so how much do the side cards of ds version of these hands kill our potential for 3-betting blinds vs BTN? We ofc prefer AAJTds to AA73ds, but I imagine it's still fine to 3b AA73ds vs most BTNs and COs 100bb? Thanks!

AA73 double-suited is a top 0.5% hand in every sense. Anomalous conditions need to be present before flatting becomes an option, from any positions, at any stack depth.

PokerJuice has some decent prefabricated ranges. They aren't perfect, but PPT is worse. Look at the double-digit OOP ranges.

As you are making that question in this thread, expecting a solution, the answer is:

Spoiler:
You can't.

What is the standard play for flopping top set with AA on a two flush flop? I am always scared to check and have it check around and a flush complete on the turn. On the other hand, I think you give up a ton of value by potting the flop when you strongly rep AA from your preflop pot sized bet. Also, if the turn/river pairs of course you now can stack other boats.

I have tried this for years. I spend more than 10 k what is a huge sum for me.
Consider how low life i am or living. Thats basicly 50 % of my income from last 3 years.

I tried to pump myself up with theory and play.
Tried to play as many hands i could. (got allmost 200k )
Was allmost break even in this stretch but i run way above ev.
Lost everything playing higher with 10 bi.

Games seems to be just nittish ..
