Yeah had that a couple times over the holiday season when I went back home. Enjoyed, but wasn't as much of a fan. I actually sort of like the regular Yeti imperial more. It tasted pretty great on tap though.

I can't wait for Pliny the Younger to be released. I love the Elder but nothing beats Younger.

If you like DIPA I'd suggest Pallet Wrecker by Green Flash. Really good.

Right now my go to beer has to be Sculpin by Ballast Point. The flavor works with anything.

i'd go for something that has flavors more in line with food. saisons and non-malty belgian style ales come to mind.
This. I'm not a fan of hoppy beers either. You don't have to force it. Drink what you like. If you like wheat beers, drink those. Definitely agree with the saison and belgian ales as a next step and maybe add in some brown ales also. This should give you plenty of variety (in addition to the wide variety of lagers you can try though those tend to have less depth of flavors/variety IMO).

Ommegang has a nice Saison and Chimay is a go-to for belgians, plus you get to feel like a big bottle pimp.

Great thread.

I apologize if this has been posed/answered already...

I have a bottle of Chimay premiere and it says to "serve *slightly chilled." What are some ways y'all like to accomplish this. I don't feel like going the ice bucket route and planned on popping it in the freezer, fwiw. Not sure how long, probably about 15-20 mins. I wanted to check here to make sure that wouldn't be tantamount to a 3rd trimester back alley abortion. Tia.

Just put it in the fridge for a while. If it's too cold when you take it out, let it sit out on the counter for 20 or 30 minutes before you open it.

Dude stocking it said he had just moved from MI and said it's always $8 there for a 6er. Is he full of ****?

for bell's themselves or hopslam? Hopslam is anywhere between $15-18 per 6er. For other bell's beers that sounds about right

Right, he was specifically talking about Hopslam. He claimed it's $8 out there and couldn't understand why it's $20 on the West.

I guess I looked too much like a fanboi, because he was stocking single bottles of Hopslam when I walked into the aisle and he asked if there was anything he could help me find, and I told him "Now that I see you have the new Hopslam in, I think I'm all set." He then said, "Last year's was much better, but it's worth a try." So I grabbed a 6er off the shelf and he said, "Or it's worth picking up, I guess." so I said, "With this beer, a 6-pack IS trying it out." He then went on with the $8 story.

Thanks, for the confirmation, guys.

Tropical blast of citrus with caramel and honey, piney bitterness on the end. Very complex, balanced, and the alcohol is very well hidden this year. This is the first year I've had two in one setting. Very sweet. I'm more of a bitter dipa guy, but these guys get it right.

^this. My store sells it for 10.99. I really need to know where it's available for less as I have a very hard time believing that.

Red. Unrefrigerated.

OP was pretty on target. This is Sapporo's better version, nonetheless.

got 2 four packs of the new Oscar Blues beers

Ten Fidy

and Gubna

for $15 each.

wasn't gonna shell out the cash but turns out a friend of mine from HS works at the liqour store and is a good salesman. could probably say that Ten Fidy is my fav. beer right now (along with Lakewood brewries the Temptress from here in Dallas). straight motor oil. i just got into stouts so i haven't really found the one yet. big fan of Lagunitas' Cappuccino stout, too.

the imperial IPA was good, too.
