Pumpkinhead by Shipyard Breweries has a pretty distinctive pumpkin taste without being overpowering. Tastes kind of cider-y as well, but not like cider beers (woodchuck) but rather actual cider. I am a fan and saw it on the shelf a few weeks ago but I need for it to be a bit cooler before I get into the fall beers.

Really enjoyed New Belgium Somersault throughout the summer.

Terp I know next to nothing about distribution except what I don't get in Stl but you should try anything by Dogfish Head or Three Floyd's I feel like those should both be available in NYC.

Just wanted to pop in and recommend Southern Tier Pumking to anyone in the OH, PA, western NY region. It is a delicious beer.

Shock Top makes a decent belgian white which is usually a bit cheaper than blue moon. Their strawberry wheat is also kinda good but I know most people don't like fruity beer. Anyway I picked up their Pumpkin Wheat and it's sub-standard. I can't even tell it's a seasonal. It's tasting like a stale version of their Belgian White or something. I don't recommend it.

Don't know about distribution stuff, but fresh Ommegang would be on my list for NY.

I was severely disappointed when I came across this beer and finally got to taste it. It was definitely good, but I wasn't like holy **** this is the best IPA I've ever tasted.

I have a line on Pliny for about a 12-pack a month. It's my favorite beer ever by a long shot, and totally lived up to the hype for me. The most complex and well balanced flavors I've ever experienced. The 3 separate stages of flavor remind me of tasting a beautiful wine.

I think that most people don't know jack when it comes to judging a beer. For most, it comes down to whether they like it or not which is about as low level a critique that one can offer. If you have a refined palette you don't have to like the beer to understand how complex it is, to appreciate how consistent the beer always is, to understand how balanced it is and how few IPAs do anything after the hops hit you at the front of the tongue.

Pliny is for people who appreciate the craft of beer.

Did you consider what a pretentious clown you would sound like when you posted this?

Pay, I will say that I have a great palate when it comes to both wine and beer( if you truly want to argue, I'll give you my SN on both cellartracker and beeradvocate). I will also say that you are being a giant douche irt Pliny. Pliny is only great when caught insanely fresh. Otherwise it's just a very good dipa. That is the inherent problem with Pliny as opposed to say doublejack. Because of that, it's terribly over rated IMO
