You're confused. Most vegans I know are so for ethical reasons, not dietary reasons. And your definition is pretty flawed. Nothing is vegan if you want to take it there. Someone handled the fruit before you eat it, and traces of human skin/dna are on it.
Right. This is what I meant when I said 99% of vegans are clueless; you seem to be more than most, however.
Most commercial sugar is refined with bone char. The char is not in the sugar, but ethical vegans do not eat or use products which were tested on animals or processed with animal ingredients, so they don't consume non-vegan sugar (yes, look it up on your peta site).
But I'm not going to get all nitty and talk about gel-caps in your meds; the medicine in the caps (or pills) that were diligently tested and retested on animals to be safe before tested on humans, or most of the products you use daily that were tested on animals before being released to the public that you're oblivious to.
