when people say "it's -30 with the wind". no, it's not, you moron. the wind doesn't change the temperature. you can say it "feels like -30" or "the windchill is -30" but there aren't two separate temperatures "with the wind" and "without the wind".

Windchill is defined by the rate of heat loss on the skin due to the wind. Not applicable to inanimate objects or the actual temp outside. Yea, not a lot of people get that the temp itself isn't dropping.

My only gripes about Reddit is that the user-sourced content and comments are surprisingly vulgar. There's a certain technique to adding emphasis to your post by using swear words or memes, and it's almost entirely lost in a lot of those posts.

I agree about the "See your X and raise you Y" meme. After reading about string raises on here for years, those titles tilt me.

Reddit isn't so bad if you unsubscribe from some of the default subreddits (AdviceAnimals, aww, funny, etc.) and let the more interesting stuff float to the top. You can always un-hide the other ones later if you want a quick laugh or need to see a baby duckling cuddling with a squirrel or some ****.
