When sports reporters won't give a definite prediction for the Super Bowl. Just so they can protect their asses if they are wrong
"Yeah I like seattle but the patriots look good too. It could go either way. 50-50. If you point a gun to my head I'll take seattle. But it's close! Patriots could end up winning it if things go their way"
Sports reporters making predictions in the first place pisses me off.
In reality-world all sports predictions should go like this: "Well if you run it 1000 times I think the Patriots win 550. But of course we can't run it 1000 times so basically it's a coin flip. Enjoy your random number generator folks. I'll be back after the game to build narratives about destiny, heart and intangibles."
It pisses me that 49 doesn't follow traditional Roman Numeral rules.
X is 10, and IX is 9.
L is 50, so IL should be 49.
I don't know about 'traditional Roman Numeral rules' - it's not like 49 is the only number that applies to. 99 is XCIX, 499 is CDXCIX, 999 is CMXCIX. It's just the way it works with Roman Numerals.

True. It would make more sense to have IC be 99, ID be 499 and IM be 999. CMXCIX is awful.
The fact that the NFL thinks that almost everyone is stupid... ok, they might be right, but still.
They have announced that next year will NOT be Super Bowl L. It will be Super Bowl 50 to avoid "confusion". The 2017 Super Bowl will revert back to to Roman Numerals and will be Super Bowl LI
That one always blows my mind. Instead of soaking in an experience, people are more worried about getting it on video so they can experience a fraction of the experience on a five inch screen or on their youtube channel.
When homeless people strongly play the "I served in the military" card. It's ok to have a sign that says they are a vet, but don't come at me with the "hey i'm army etc" thing trying to get me to feel obligated to give you anything.
Talking about the SuperBowl, the fact that, of the people there, some probably watched Katy Perry rather than do the reasonable thing and go take a leak and get another beer.

it's all about people saying "oh hey I was there!!". It pisses me off so much, same thing in museum. I went to the Louvres in Paris this summer, mother****ers everywhere taking ****ing selfies, SELFIES of themselves with Mona Lisa in the background. Humankind SUCKS.
Right. I don't even hate the selfies at the Louvre but people missing stuff they are at so they can make a mediocre video no one will watch is super annoying. Every kids recital or program is like this. 80% of people missing the actual action to watch on a screen to make a video that no one will watch.
I go to a lot of shows and, at least in SF, I feel like that is getting a lot better. I think its peak here was a year or two ago. It def got out of hand, but now most people consider it really lame.
The one that gets me is people spending a lot of time trying to get that perfect picture at a sporting event and missing key pieces of action.

I'll admit I take video at my son's programs. I also upload those videos on YouTube and pass the links on to his grandparents and other family members that don't live near us and ask us all the time to Make sure we record it for them. There is also several of his programs that are during the day. Sometimes both parents can't get off work, if I can't be there I would expect my wife to record it so I can watch it and enjoy it.

Solid point. Well made.
And when you think about it, maybe one of the people videoing the super bowl was katy perry's dad? Who's to hate on that?
