Hearing the promo/announcer guy on the Golf channel, say: "On the GOFF Channel" 100 times a day on commercials. I like to watch the big events, and the US Open is this week. It is disturbing and it is getting under my skin.

I understand that a small percentage of people believe that pronouncing Golf Goff is acceptable, but it is just terrible to listen to (maybe back in the old days in Scotland it was acceptable, but it cannot be allowed now). It cannot be acceptable in my book, no more than saying irregardless would be acceptable to hear from someone. It is just wrong. What most people don't know is that irregardless is actually a technically correct permissible usage, but it is understood to be wrong by so many people, that it has become wrong, even if someone can claim it to be right.

It is like a weak handshake by a man. That is just wrong, and it shows you that the person is out of touch with reality. I mean, how can a man not have at least a somewhat firm handshake? You have to be so unaware to shake someone's hand in a soft way, that it sends a terrible signal to those you encounter. I am not bothered by a weak handshake as much as stunned by it. Such a simple thing to do, and if you don't do it, it really makes you look bad.

Oh, and having to listen to Doris Burke do NBA interviews. And whomever is the female who announces a bunch of Big Ten games for football. Here you are starting off you day about to root in some games, and she is usually on the first ESPN TV game. I just don't see how these people have EVER added an ounce of insight in all of the games they appear. They rattle off a few statistics, but it is just awful to listen to. That is not sexist. These two just bring zero to the table. Mike Breen, who des NBA now, is wrong about 50 percent of the time. He will say: "Foul, no travelling, no, wait a minute, at first the ref called a foul, but he was waived off, but...." And then one of the other announcers will jump in and straighten him out.

Michael Breed definitely says "goff". It is pretty tilting.

Is that the promo guy's name, or does the NBA guy say Goff, too? Or...who cares? The bottom line, is that if I want to watch the Golf Channel this week, which I do, then I will be aggravated by their announcer.

I seriously am thinking of sending a blast email to the people there. I did a quick look last week, and most of the bigwigs have email addresses listed publicly at the GolfChannel.com site. I want to say in a funny, but somewhat serious way, that I am thinking of killing myself because of this bull****...haha.

Once you notice it, you cannot unnotice it:

"Tuesdays on the Goff Channel."

"Watch Feherty on the Goff Channel."

"See the 19th Hole on the Goff Channel."

I'm wondering how he got past the HR interview, which surely consisted of one test:

"Pronounce the word 'golf'"

"Goff"

"Try again."

"Goff"

"Again!"

"Goff"

"LAST CHANCE!"

"Goff"

"You're hired."

I apologize for writing this thread, because if you've read this far you will no longer be able to watch the Goff - er, Golf - Channel with the same enjoyment. Really, I do.

It's not silent, and never has been. However, with enough uneducated sloths like yourself, it may one day be.

-I'm driving on the left lane when there's no cars around. An idiot speeding up on the left land, so I signal and go on the right lane. Idiot passes me and signals to the right lane... WTH!!

-I'm on the right lane, some cars on the hill to my right coming down trying to get in on the right so I signal to the left lane. As I'm signaling to the left, an idiot behind me speeds up. So, seeing how the idiot speeds up, I hit my gas so he doesn't get too close to me. Once I'm far away from him, he slows down or go to the right land. Jeez Christ..

-People don't turn the other way when coughing, just have to walk by me and cough in my direction. I need to make a do list for people that don't think when they cough. If I see another douchebag that coughs my way, I'm going to walk up to him and cough in front of his face!

-When people see you want something, they tend to want it to or make it hard for you to have it. For EX: I'm at a buffet and I wanted to get this particular food, this idiot looks at me and sees me looking at this particular food, he goes over and stands there and pretends to look around and later walks away...

-Kids and adults who have to let others know their cars make LOUD FART NOISES. Not only does it look stupid but it's annoying. VROOM VROOM WHILE GOING 10 MPH... Awesome idiots!!

I think that's it for now. But in general, I hate people who love attention. I'm the type who hates attention, so it sucks when I go out because most of the idiots in their 20's-30's are attention ******. When I'm out walking, if you see me on the left, why do you slow down..? When I'm driving, minding my own business, go vroom your expensive car to someone who cares. I just want to relax my mind and get home safe, thanks!

Lol you

The left lane is for passing. If there are no cars around, stay in the right lane. The other driver did it right. Pass on the left, then get back over.

Agreed. People that drive in the left like that end up not paying attention and then cause others to have to pass on the right.

Also, oneaddone3, I would guess you're reading way too much into most of the things you're thinking about. While there are some *******s in the world they're actually not that common and things like the guy standing in front of the food you want is more often than not just an innocent/oblivious thing. The world is not out to get you.

contrary to other opinion imo, if you are left lane spacing out and don't notice someone approaching until they're near you, just stay. it is so much easier to pass a left lane cruiser who just stays put, then one who tries to switch right when you're already close to them. you're basically becoming a rolling road block and forcing me to brake to wait for you to switch lanes, when the right lane was already clear and i could've just gone by.

That is literally the best candidate for this thread. It affects my life in no way whatsoever and the end product is no different but it tilts the **** out of me

In some states it's illegal to pass on the right.

I think there are some states/highways where signs are posting like that. It's stupid though. 99.9% of the time I pass on the right, it's because there's some moron in the far left lane driving 5 mph under the speed limit.
