Just watched the Team America trailer and I think there's legitimate contextual differences between that and The Interview. i.e. TA's plot doesn't revolve around an assassination

Kim Jong Il dies in Team America and he was the villain in it
Kim Jong Un listens to Katy Perry and becomes James Franco's friend and probably doesn't die in The Interview.

Surely the Jihadist terrorists didn't like Zero Dark-Thirty or any of 100 different movies using them as villains. And these terrorists threaten people in the US with physical violence. Yet nobody is stopping those movies. Cyber hacking doesn't make any difference here does it? This Interview cancellation makes no sense except maybe that it was just a bad movie that Sony didn't want to spend more money on. Maybe I'm missing something.

Whoever did this hack were ****ing pros, they got pretty much EVERYTHING if you see what stuff is being leaked. They probably also got the interview so ironically some high up North Korean government officials have probably seen it

I'd be very surprised if North-Koreans actually did it, from everything we know IT knowledge is a joke inside N-K. THey probably hired some top Chinese hackers though I wonder why any top hackers would do something so high risk, though maybe I'm underestimating how much money N-K would have to spend on **** like this

How reliant is the NY Times? Lots of highly interesting speculation in this article including MURICA their feelings on this subject:

About as reliable as a US paper gets, probably top 5 even to its critics. It's an institution. And one of the authors in the byline (Sanger) is first-rate.

Considering NK kidnaps foreign nationals with expertise in specific areas, in addition to sending their own citizens to be trained by experts when they feel they can't do better internally, it wouldn't surprise me in the least if this was NK.

While some fun US/People mag stuff has come out of the hack, its blatantly a terrorist act. There should be serious repercussions coming from not only the US, but the rest of the world. I guess assuming there is a very credible case that it was actually state-sponsored. You'd hate for the US to mobilize international action on the back of what turned out to be (deliberate?) falsehoods.

This is apparently not true at all. nK apparently puts a lot of work into training some really impressive hackers. There was a post on reddit with sources about it but I'm on phone so you'll just have to take my word for it.

Ever wonder if Sony was just worried about more e-mails being released and a Donald Sterling controversy and gave in?

Though many theatre chains would not show it

The movie has been seen by a lot of critics and there have been a bunch of special screenings already. It will definitely be leaked by someone at some point.

I find it hard to believe that sony will never release this at theatres or on Blu Ray. They spent $50 million on the movie, not including marketing, which seemed like a lot.

The hack itself or the threat? Because if hacking other countries for nefarious purposes is terrorism things dont look to good for USA#1.
