Such sad news. Never knew him outside of 2p2 but he honestly was one of the few screennames that I could see make a post and instantly know some of their backstory.

this forum has quite a bit of bickering(or worse), and it seems that even here ytf was universally liked. i know i liked him. we had several conversations that i enjoyed quite a bit, and of course his stories and enthusiasm and kindness.

i know this forum was a better place with him in it, and i believe the world was a better place with him in it too.

Some really solid posts in this thread, and I think Chop has a very good idea.

Somehow, my posting never crossed paths with YTF. I knew of him through reputation, and a few years ago I read his weightloss thread through to that point. Its clear he was a great guy, and a real loss.

WTF happened??!!! Awful news to wake up to. RIP, sir. Thank you.

RIP YTF and gg sir.

I've enjoyed so many of his posts, especially his weight loss thread as well as his contributions to the New England thread. I've chatted with him a bit in the past as he grew up in Massachusetts. Genuinely nice person seems to sum him up well.

Makes me feel a little better to know how he'll be missed in this corner of the universe.

Rich, I read that he had a heart attack.

One of the first things I do every morning is head to the Breakroom thread, hoping I can start the day with a good YTF story with my coffee.

I never met him, but I feel like I've lost an old friend.

RIP, YTF

Never met the guy and I am envious of those who did.
I am glad I got to know him here and also on social media.

The one thing I keep seeing on his Facebook page is how genuine he was. "Stand-up guy" is repeated.

The world will be a little more boring without him in it.

I don't believe in an afterlife, but in the event I am wrong, YTF has already taken the place over with some amazing stories.

We should have a 2+2 "In Memorium" thread....where we can post 2+2ers who have passed and share memories and tell stories. Because this list is getting much too long. ...What forum would it go in, do you think?

Great idea. If it comes to fruition, I would suggest that the thread dedicated to YTF be stickied at the very top.

RIP ytf. Was genuinely sad to hear this and had been wondering about him for a while, had no idea about his son.
There is a box in the poker room where they are collecting money to cover his funeral expenses. I can get money there if people are interested in contributing (there isn’t an online collection afaik). The note on the box explains that he was preceded in death by his son and leaves behind his long time partner, a son and a daughter.

That sounds like something we should try to facilitate.

ya, considering how long 2p2 has been around, I would imagine ppl are gonna start dropping routinely.

then again, he was only in his 50s.

kinda depressing all around.

I mean, off the top of my head:

YTF
Slider
Merek007
getterdone36

That Washington guy who had the drama bomb with that girl....can't remember his name...

And I'm sure there are others.

Merek's was particularly brutal with the forum going offline for an extended period when he was in the late stages of his illness.

Posted as BobbyAWS at majorwager.com when he worked offshore in early 2000s (name of defunct sportsbook was allworldsports.com).

He went to work with for a very well liked guy that got indicted, was a fugitive and eventually turned himself in. Bobby dodged all that but I would of loved to hear his stories about his boss and friend, etc....

https://www.google.com/search?client...UTF-8&oe=UTF-8

that is a link to half-ass search the forums there for his super old posts. I don't think the search function on their site works.

He might of posted as BobbyAWS at other ancient sportsbook forums that are still around like therx.com or bettorsworld.com as well.

RIP YTF, always has been one of the 2p2ers I’d like to meet live. Life is short and I need to do more of that, as perhaps we all should.

Damn pouring one out for a real one. On how many forums on this site was YTF the best poster? At least three I can think of.

Forgot about his karaoke prowess.

I wonder if he has a notebook filled with written down stories.

Wow had no idea he was an APA pool player. I played APA for at least a decade and would have certainly had our meetup at Jillian's or some other Boston pool hall had I known.

He started a bunch of threads in the pool forum https://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/1...ker-billiards/ including
How I went from "running 3-4 balls" to "running out from the break" in one week (not spam!) https://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/1...-spam-1590693/
