Damn... just re-watched that stand up run in the car. Remember watching his actual stand up too, he had balls getting up there and real potential too.

RIP

Very sad news. Seemed like a a genuine, nice, earnest guy. Always enjoyed his posts. From his stories about dating, dealing cards, weight loss, stand up, beating a traffic ticket, TV... His contributions to the forum will definitely be missed. RIP ytf.

Oh yeah, beating a traffic ticket was prime YTF. Good memory

Sad news, he was one of the good ones. If I think about how much time I spent reading his postings over the last decade, that’s probably more time than I spent interacting with a lot of family members.

That one needs updating badly. Currently, there are 6 head coaches who were former Andy Reid assistants.

I met him in Minnesota one month ago today. We spent a few hours together having a meal at a diner and then chatting over beers at a three different breweries. There wasn't a break in the conversation the entire time. He was incredibly engaging; he had a unique and varied knowledge base due to leading such an interesting life. He seemed to me to be a very happy, positive, and content guy despite numerous significant challenges life threw at him.

I was looking forward to meeting up with him again sometime, but we won't have the chance. I am very lucky to have met him and we're all lucky to have his contributions here to remember him by. I wish his loved ones all the best.

Where is that story?

He also turned me on to the NFL preseason sucker bet of 'name 6 teams that will not make the playoffs this coming season'

Definitely sad to hear this news. I learned a ton in his thread about losing weight and it helped me a lot. He was one of those people that probably helped a lot of people by being extremely open with his thoughts/questions/ignorance/problems even when he knew it was going to bring him a bunch of tough love (and more...).

I once thought bagels were a pretty healthy breakfast too.

Put H&F on the map. RIP.

Wish we had met up on one of his trips back to God's country.

Retelling an anecdote from the H&F thread: we like to think the positive changes he made in his health and life, losing 100+ lbs, gave him more time than he would have had otherwise.

ytf was a genuine and good guy. He certainly gave far more than he took from this place.

Wasn't aware of the death of his son last summer until someone mentioned it in his H&F thread. He also had a 21yo daughter. Can't begin to imagine what she's going thru right now, losing both her brother and her father in under a year's time.

About a month ago, ytf was talking about collecting & publishing his stories. What do you guys think of doing this for him, and publishing them with his daughter as the beneficiary?

It would take some effort going thru his 20k+ posts but if enough people volunteered, many hands would make light work. Maybe someone who knew ytf irl like R*R would be willing to step forward to handle setting up the financial end to make sure ytf's daughter received all proceeds. I'm willing to spearhead & organize, but am going to have very limited internet for at least a few more months, so unless someone else is willing to do that now (please speak up if so!), it may be a while before the ball gets rolling. I think ytf would appreciate the effort. He absolutely deserves it.

RIP ytf. Was genuinely sad to hear this and had been wondering about him for a while, had no idea about his son.
