Best movie I've seen in a real long time.

I really loved it.

1) Holy ****, Christoph Waltz.

2) Love the optimistic message of "You can defeat evil with the power of cinema." Somehow QT found out a way to give us catharsis and justice in the end without abandoning his "edge."

3)

Reminded me of the wrapper unfolding on the gas station counter in No Country in a similar moment of tension between two people.

Great movie. Brad Pitt was brilliant and his scenes were the best...I think his character as "Aldo Raine" in this movie and "Tyler Durden" in fight club both have to be two of the great cinema characters of the past 10 years.

The tension at spots was epic...And many of the tension scenes had the feeling of a great Western (partially because of Ennio Morricone music) which was awesome.

Really really good. I think it demands a second viewing to really decide how it fits in with QT's other movies (all of which I really enjoyed). Incredible beginning and ending without question, I am interested to see how the middle holds up under multiple viewings.

BTW, no one consistently soundtracks better than QT.

Saw it last night. Super entertaining, like you'd expect from a Tarentino. Long epic interesting conversations and brutal action sequences. <3

Unquestionably true. I thought this repeatedly during the movie.

Man, my heart rate actually picked up during the last chapter

Spoiler:
I was eagerly awaiting to see the outcome of the Shoshana storyline, literally hoping she would get her revenge and live to see it. Alas, its a QT movie, should have seen it coming, but man to me that whole last chapter was so intense.

Landa and Raine were too phenomenal characters, with Landa easily being the best. Wouldn't surprise me in the least to see either guy get nominated.

Plus what other WWII movie has
Spoiler:
Hitler dying at the hand of someone else? So awesome

Finally, I was really glad Landa
Spoiler:
Didn't completely get away with his plan, Raine, you ****ing pimp.

I think Landa might be one of the best movie villain's ever, the way that character was created and acted was just unreal.

This is one of the best movies I have ever seen. It might be better than Pulp Fiction! Chapter One is easily the best scene of the decade and one of the best scenes in movie history. It is basically a love letter to Sergio Leone and Ennio Morricone. If you like this movie you have to see Once Upon a Time in the West and The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly.

Something I was a little uncertain of...

Spoiler:
Does Landa know it's Shosanna in the streudel scene?

You misunderstood what he was trying to do, the dialog is suppossed to be grindhouse- ish basically meaning bad. It's like all your base are belong to us.

I agree with Pudge that while I really enjoyed it, I don't have as much as love for it as most people in this thread do. Landa was amazing, and the first scene was probably my favorite scene of the movie. Pitt was enjoyable as well.

Took me a couple of seconds to realize Mike Myers part.

Big fan of August Diehl now. Amusing that he plays a Holocaust survivor in The Counterfeiters and part of the nazi regime in this film. The delivery of his one-liner was fantastic.

Now to nitpick a little:
Spoiler:

- They never really say how Shoshana got to own the theater. Would have like to known that.

- Sticking with Shoshana, why did it seem like she had some sympathy for Zoller after she shot him? Seemed completely out of character for someone committed to bringing down the Nazi regime.

- Lastly, throughout the film, Landa is made out to be a very smart/clever person. Then at the end, everybody in the theater knew what was going to happen. How could he not? At least drive to an area where he's under the supervision of not just Pitt/BJ Novak.

Overall, really enjoyed this, but not nearly as much as Pulp Fiction. Rate it a bit higher than Jackie Brown.

Word. Fistful of Dollars, For a Few Dollars, and The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly...3 classic movies; Inglorious Basterds has a very similar tone particularly during the tension scenes.

Hope Tarantino eventually does an epic western in the sergio leone mold cuz he's a genius with tension scenes (which is what makes westerns westerns imo)

Spoiler:
I think it was because his character in his film seemed to show remorse or at least burdon for the deaths he was responsible for when she was watching after she shot him

Was anyone else positive that...

Spoiler:
the film she was making to be spliced into the German film was going to be her banging her black boyfriend? I was like 100% that was what it was going to be.

Jackie Brown was a POS so not quite sure what you are trying to say since ofc you like it more than Jackie Brown. Just by a bit though lol

I think this is either his 3rd or 4th (accounting for personal taste) best movie that he directed.

I really like this movie. the theater I went to was completely full. The soundtrack was excellent, chock full of old songs from westerns. You can really tell how much Tarantino loves the spaghetti westerns
