One time at a large dinner (13 people) during homecoming for my college I wrote this on my friends receipt with some corny line (using his number). She texted when she got off work and we were really drunk and we loved it.

Passant,

Did you make any acknowledgement to the number when you signed it and gave it to her or are you hopping she can backwards deduce what guy you were based off the drinks you ordered. Also there's a good chance the bartender who is doing the cc tips at the end is not the same person you wanted to give the number too.

Met Asian Bob's Burgers girl for sushi. Place was trendy so pretty loud and crowded. Probably not the best early date choice in retrospect, but I like to try places rather than optimize dating equity sometimes. We bonded over eating a lot and not eating super gracefully. I joked that our next date would be all you can eat buffet. She actually paid the entire thing, like snatched it from the middle because I paid last time. It's cool but I always worry it means lack of interest on some level even if they say its more of a feminist thing.

We went for a walk. I put my arm around her and she looked at me and laughed "It's not that cold" She said ya, she hasn't dated anyone in a while. Seems like she wants to get to know someone more first, and she mentioned it's hard to know anything the first couple dates. She started asking me to tell her more about myself, and I realized I hadn't shared as much with her as I had with blonde rumchata girl, for whatever reason.

I decided to abort my plan of asking her back. We walked around and back to her car near the restaurant and she dropped me off at my place. I kissed her goodnight, and went to kiss her again."that's it" she said matter-of-factly. lol.

I did not. The bar wasn't crowded though, she was one of two bartenders, and I received my receipt from her, so I was confident that she knew I was the person who wrote my number. I was also making good eye contact with her.

In any case, I agree that asking is probably the better play, so I'm happy that it worked out. She happens to live in my same neighborhood! We are meeting up tonight at a local bar. TR to follow!

Jesus, i've seen some awful profiles, but I think this one tops the lot, purely because of the last line - why the **** would any of that spark your interest?!

Hi, I'm kate, thanks for looking at my profile! I work full time and enjoy all the usual things in life like catching up with friends, a nice meal and bottle of wine. My friends would say I'm kind, fun, generous and fiercely loyal and I'm hoping to meet someone like minded. If any of this has sparked your interest, feel free to say hi!

She'd probably end up questioning your loyalty anyway.

"fiercely loyal" is usually a euphemism for "clung onto my ex despite him cheating on me several times".

blonde Rumchata girl was sick Monday, but agreed to come watch a documentary and chill. Any suggestions on which one to pick?

Met up with bartender at 8. I live in a somewhat snobbish area, so I had my guard up as that is not my type. After a couple of hours on the fence, and a couple of beers, we both loosened up and I was able to see that she was actually a pretty cool girl. I walked her back to her place and we made out for a little. Smoking hot body. Going out with her again on Saturday night.
