Amazing.

While I'm here, I need to give Steak n Shake some love. Twice in the last month I've had late night drive thru, and it was awesome both times. Hot, fresh, and tasty. Last night I had the double steakburger with cheese with fries combo ($3.99.) Thoroughly on point.

I discovered Steak n Shake a couple months ago, +1 on them being awesome. Have been twice, both times the burgers and shakes were very very good, and fries solid as well.

Also, it's well documented, but throwing one more bit of love for Chick Fil A. Decided to hit the drive through at lunch yesterday. Pulled up, and the line was like 10+ cars long. "Here comes a 15 minute wait," I thought. Wrong. Instead of using the drive thru mike, they had two very pleasant employees standing outside taking orders on i-pads. The line absolutely zoomed along. When I got to the window, there were two employees, one to immediately hand me the bag of food, the other to take my credit card, swipe it, and get me on my way within seconds. I was in line like 4 minutes tops. Damn those people do this fast food thing right.

(Lunch was outstanding as always).

Got two double bacon cheeseburgers from burger king. Combined them into one burger. It was decent. Satisfied my craving for a big hunk of meat. Also a fair amount of bacon.

First time thru a burger king in years

That's gotta be 5-6 bucks though. Might as well go somewhere good for that price.

Outstanding service/effort/innovation by CFA.

The 2015 calendar offerings are quite solid. Better than 2014.

was better before but $2.50 for a bacon double cheese is a good price (imo) and 2 from BK would make me content.

Not sure where you are getting 2 bacon/cheese burgers for < $5

Just got the Whataburger jalapeno-cheese biscuit with sausage egg cheese. This is incredible, got the jalapeno and cheddar baked in the biscuit. Jalapeno kick in each bite is really nice. And only 2.69. I'll probably never get the regular biscuit there again.

So this is DQ's January Blizzard of the month, but they had it already today at my local DQ, and it's **** amazing. It's as if Dunkaroos came with Oreos. Unbelievably good. Warren Buffett must have looked at soft serve ice cream and Oreos together and said, "you know what? this needs more sugar. let's add frosting!"

I had (more than) a few of the birthday cake blizzards back in April/May when they were out, ridiculously good. Adding oreos is like gilding the lily but I approve. Will get one soon.

I (as well as my two friends) thought the cake blizzards were awful

I don't like Subway but tough to beat their December customer appreciation promo. $2 6 inch meatball or cold cut. I grabbed me both for $4.21 and a currently have a full tummy.

I'll continue to defend Subway in this thread. It's cheap, everywhere, and you can basically get a salad on top of your sandwich. Why do so many people seem to hate it so much? I guess the meats could be better, but they seem to be pretty standard cold cuts.

I'm not a Subway hater, but common themes are: UGH THAT SMELL, low quality bread, low quality meats, low quality "sandwich artists", overwhelming urge to kick Jared from Subway in the nuts, everywhere has better sandwiches.

Subway is what it is - mediocre food at a medium price point. You can get more bang for your buck at McDonalds or Taco Bell (although the $2 customer appreciation subs are a good deal), you can get better food most anywhere.

The cold cut trio was so bad that I couldn't eat it - the meats are just the worst

However, overall I'm a pretty big subway fan

Thread hates Quizno's even worse than Subway.

I'm pretty confident I will never eat at Quiznos again in my life...nut low

Quizno's is not very good, but it's far superior to Subway. Subway is just super weak everywhere except the condiments/dressings. Bad bread, bad cold cuts, bad veggies.

I guess the value is okay when you get an appreciation sub or whatever but still...yuck.

Subway has bad bread? I must be lucky with my local one.

Subway is great when it's a special. Lol at their regular prices and small meat portions though.

I've been to 1-2 Subways that have been pretty decent. I'd say all the other ones I've been to have bad everything. The small meat portion is indeed lol. They must put 1/8 lb meat on a footlong sub.

I guess it's my plebeian ways, but I don't mind Subway's bread. I do think basically getting a tossed salad on top of the sandwich is a positive they have over most other fast food places. Lack of meat is a valid complaint though IMO. Hold on, I started talking about porn there for a second.

i seem to only get the flatbread at subway anymore...either breakfast or lunch. can't speak much to their other breads.

i agree with SirO that subway gets more hate ITT than it probably deserves (at least based on my experience in the PacNW...the same place that he lives), but more and more it has been losing whatever value it had in the past and prices are getting very close to that which you can find at some local sandwich place.

i can't remember the last time i've had subway's cold cuts (queuing ickey woods getting some cold cuts) so i can't really speak to their quality, but i typically stick to some variation of the chunk chicken, slab chicken or steak (buffalo chicken/sirachi chicken/steak egg & cheese/oven roasted chicken) and customize from there.

i toast every sandwich i get, and i strongly suggest having them put onions, bell peppers, and jalapenos on before toasting (pretty much any sandwich). pepperjack is the only cheese unless getting the roasted chicken + marinara + provolone.

subway pretty much encourages you to customize your sandwich, so don't just order some stock slab of bread plus meat off of the menu....have them make it for you like you would do at home.

southwest sauce on steak/egg/pepperjack breakfast + onion & bell pepper
buffalo chicken w/toasted onion, bell pepper, jalapeno + pepperjack, pickles, lettuce, and a little bit of ranch with extra hot sauce
roasted chicken w/toasted onion, bell pepper, jalapeno + provolone and marinara + parmesan
