I've read that the self service kiosks at Rick's are notoriously filthy. I won't dare use them.

I also hate that CVS is basically just self-serve checkout now. The last 2 times I went I needed assistance on my order to proceed. The assistant manager wasn't there even though she was supposed to be hanging around in case people need help. The first time I waited nearly 5 minutes just standing there in agony before getting helped. Second time I waited about 3.5 minutes.


I had some thoughts of writing to corporate to try and get a free gift card but I don't wanna potentially mess with someone's job, when they're extremely likely being demanded to do too many tasks at the same time.

The last time I was a Costco member they didn't have self-checkout. Granted that was quite a few years ago, but the long checkout lines were always the bane of Costco as far as I was concerned.

Those all look like the kinds of things I would never buy in a restaurant.

My goto CJ order is the chix tendies. At one point, they were good value, but since my local Carl's closed and turned into an Urgent Care facility (no drive-thru), I haven't been to one in years.
