Ok, I sucked it up and finished Kingdom. Season 3 did get better and I'm glad I hung in there. I guess there is talk of a season 4 but I wouldn't expect much.

Billions kind of falling off in season 3, but my interest is renewed since Teddy KGB showed up.

Billions was very good right up til the end of Season 3 iirc. Sometime soon after
Spoiler:
Taylor started their own hedge fund
, the show went from good to just totally unwatchable imo.

Age of Samurai is very interesting and well done, but it didn't hook me hard because I'm neither patient enough nor smart enough to binge a history show. I'm sure I'll return to it but I'm only through 3 eps right now.

Zerozerozero was mentioned earlier in this thread; I highly recommend it. My only real complaint is that the character development was limited. All in all, it's a stunning series with lots of action, great acting, a huge geographical scope, and tons of suspense.

Netflix has a doc on the guy who wrote the book 000 series was based on. He’s living under police protection after writing Gomorrah.

Warrior Action/martial arts crime drama set in 1800’s during the Tong wars in San Francisco. Lots of violence and nudity. Good story and enjoyable to watch. Some subtitles. It’s on Amazon Prime. 8/10

Back British Comedy (2 seasons) Mitchell & Webb from Peep Show are in this and do not disappoint. Best comedy show I’ve seen in a long time. Episodes are around 25 minutes I think so it was easy to marathon. S1 is on Amazon Prime and S2 is on AMC+. 8.5/10.

hey all finally finished deadwood AND the movie

I want to start by saying Deadwood was good so was the movie

but I don't think it was as GOATY as a LOT Of people say it is. a lot of dialogue and scenes seem to just b there. and nothing really pops out, its like a really solid simmer show. i think its good but I wouldn't say its GOAT tier. and for those who say oh "you just dont get it" I dont think Sopranos is all time GOAT, but if someone WHERE to say it, I would absolutely see WHY they would.

series was solid, enjoyed my time with it, Al is prolly a top tier TV show character. some really solid take always.

the movie was seriously ****ing a really good send off for a show especially 13 years later as the show ended. thats really impressive. still overall happy that i got to watch it and experience it. was just hoping a biiit more

I don't think sopranos is the GOAT, I say the wire is the best show ive ever watched. I think sopranos is top 5 of all time tho but not the best.

but again you just say comments without backing up your claims. never specifics

I'm also in the Sopranos not GOAT camp. Will sign off on the Wire being the GOAT tho. Both those shows miles better than Breaking Bad

I agree with every part of this.

Breaking Bad was a very good show but it didn't have the depth of either Sopranos or The Wire. I feel basically the same about GoT except BB>>>>GoT. This will probably sound pretentious and elitist, but I doubt shows like Sopranos and The Wire could have attained the same level of hype as BB and GoT - for precisely the same reasons that they are superior. The former two require more attention and thought to get the most out of while the latter two are very appealing to the masses, if you will.

Sopranos rewatchability >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Deadwood>>>> The Wire>BB

Every episode is great as a stand alone, except for the dreams, if you were to come across it on browsing TV. And the series as a whole is the GOAT drama and a top tier comedy.

thanks for your input, I do think BB is somewhat comparable to Deadwood since BB does have slightly high highs. BB didn't have any characters you gave a af about compared to deadwood but at least its plot was a bit more straightforward and could tell it went from a-b-c more than deadwood. as if deadwood wasn't as planned out as BB but its small potatoes.

I am happy I finished deadwood and crossed that off my list tho. don't get many westerns of that class

you misspelled band of brothers.

sopranos is a close second followed by deadwood and the wire in no particular order since doesn't really matter how u rank them they're all absolutely elite so that's all that really matters.

oh ya and add bojack horseman to the list cuz it's one of the GOATs as well.

I’ve watched The Wire 5 times and picked up tons of new stuff each time. It’s very deep and an excellent rewatch. Sopranos too. They feel much more complex than BB to me.

I know it’s too slow for most people but I wish Treme came up in these convos.

Edit: maybe not for rewatch, but quality
