Watching BMF: The Rise and Fall Of a Hip Hop Drug Empire at the moment. Really interesting documentary about a drug trafficking ring that used a hip hop label as it's front. They were pushing upwards of 600 kilos of coke a week. Conservative estimates are they made close to $300 million before being brought down.

Craziest thing was they traps in their limos/sedans to hide the drugs and money. After one of them got seized, the cops couldn't find the hidden compartments and they weren't found til a year later, when it was sold and the new owner found them. He found $1 millipn in the hidden compartments.

Really recommend BMF documentary.

hmmm, so they rent a movie, replace it with a hacked dvd, return that, and waitz until a random person starts feeding you their usernames and passwords and ****.

I mean the 1-1 distribution system leaves a lot to be desired but folks have no security wall built up for DVDs and will click on any nonsense to make movies play.

Really liked the multi-part Ken Burns doc "Jazz"

Watched this as per recommendation and it was interesting. No action whatsoever, and the acting is bad (except Tony Todd, of course), but it raises a lot of questions about evolution, religion, science, and how people view the world. It's cool to have on in the background because not much happens that isn't dialogue, so you can just listen and get the whole gist of the movie.

Watched Lars and the Real Girl few nights ago. Don't know what to think about it honestly. Gosling definitely gives a great performance, as does Paul Schneider (Parks And Recreation) as his brother. Wasn't as strange as I thought it'd be, given the synopsis of the movie. Definitely worth a watch.

Watched Lars and the Real Girl- was really good indie style film. I can see how some people wont enjoy it so Ill try to outline it the best I can without giving away the entire film. Lars(played by Ryan Gosling) lives in the seprarated garage from his brother and his wife. he is very socially awkward but a nice guy, he ends up ordering a real doll(sex doll) and poses it as his girlfriend. the town around him plays along with his delusion/fantasy.

Its really enjoyable, a little sad but in an optimistic kind of way, which doesnt really make sense lol.

I also spent the first 5 minutes baffled that lars is ryan gosling, looks nothing like him, probably the stache. Also really enjoyed it becuase it is a fantastic piece of acting from ryan.

watched Whores' Glory. really crazy movie. i mean these guys got tons and tons of amazing footage from all over the world and that includes a 4 minute single shot of a stray dog orgy. i especially liked the part in bangladesh where one of the child prostitutes was hilariously upbeat about her situation, but it was also incredibly dark ofc, including the older bangladeshi women abusing the **** out of the girls, and this ****in monologue in the next part with this mexican dude while he's cruising the zone in his truck. seriously like 5 minutes of this MANIAC talking about all the whores, i couldn't believe it was real. and then i was almost definitely positive it wasn't real when we see a dude roll up in his car, solicit some sex from a girl, then BANGS HER RIGHT THERE, NEITHER OF THEM ACKNOWLEDGING THE CAMERAS AT ANY POINT. i'm talking about full on, you see his dick, you see her sucking his dick, putting on a condom, jacking him off, then getting ****ed. IT'S CRAZY. it's crazy. and then at some point she says 'ok time's up' and it's a long single shot once again, this time of the two of them putting their clothes back on, and the guy getting out of the room and into his car and driving off. there were multiple camera angles, the lighting was solid, this was totally insane to put into the movie because it's obviously staged, and the doc didn't really need a hardcore pornographic scene in it, so overall i'd say that was fairly offputting to my viewing experience. but other than that i thought it was a great interesting watch. 4/5*

Agree. Liked that it was a mini series instead of a never ending assault of mindless cliff hangers and less than redeeming character development moments that eventually devour otherwise great TV dramas, ie the sopranos, walking dead, etc

All joking aside, the doc is really good an eye opening, slightly disturbing at times, but still good and worth the watch. Agree it should have not included the actual hardcore scene. Seems liek the filmmaker lost his mind in mexico.

The last two Saturday nights, I have not been able to connect to Netflix. I connect through a Roku device. I am able to connect to Amazon and watch movies, so i know it is not my connection or device. I actually am able to connect to netflix, but when I click on the program I want to watch the little circle keeps spinning around and finally times out.

I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this and any suggestions?
