Anything Mike Flanagan does is amazing...check out his Midnight Mass, if you haven't seen it already. My favorite of his.

After struggling through Ep3 we hit the pause button. Looks like a good move.

The show is on Disney and features a non-binary Gen Z lead with pink hair... what else were you expecting?

The missus (who loves detective shows) has stumbled over this. It's more moody and dark than Montalbano, which is the only other Italian detective show I've watched, but it does have the same Italian humour to lighten things up occasionally, as well as terrific scenery - I hike and ski a lot around these areas of the Alps.

i knew it as an fx show (understood they are owned by, but the brand conveys a different kind of show than Disney+). non-binary gen z lead with pink hair didn't really factor in to my expectations. had zero expectations going in but thought the premiere episode was well done enough that i developed some expectations in regards to story telling and character development that it didn't live up to. mad at myself for watching it all the way through, should've stopped around ep3, but also confused how you'd read that script and decide to do the show as an established actor.

I didn't mind it, tho it gave the vibe of a student film that had somehow gotten a multimillion dollar budget. I couldn't tell if it was supposed to be skinemax, a parody, or serious. Nonetheless I don't regret watching.

I felt like I was supposed to find the artist character to be much more compelling than he actually was. For me, he was just a boring guy with a bad mullet.

don't disagree, yet by the end felt he was maybe the most compelling/sensical character in the show, which is saying something

Just finished 'The Devil's Hour' on Prime. Had a similar vibe as Dark, highly recommend.

Totems on Amazon Prime. Found this one just browsing the app. I haven't seen it mentioned anywhere. I've only watched two episodes but I think it's solid. Cold War spy thriller set in the 60's. Probably a French production.

This sounds right up my alley. Gonna check it out. Thanks. So much of the good stuff seems to random stuff you just find browsing

Is Fall of House Usher supposed to be a horror film? I gave it an episode and it just didn’t seem for me.

No, I wouldn't call it a horror slasher scare you film like you might see in a theater. It is just excellent dialogue, action, cinematography over about 8 hours worth of viewing. It puts crappy film to shame when you see how the good stuff is done. And some of the monologues are brilliant where one actor went on a riff.

Bitconned on Netflix is great.

1.5 hour documentary about some guys that created a crypto, wallet and fake debit card/app (Centra Tech), used random pic for CEO on website, etc. So much crazy stuff happens.

I haven’t really enjoyed his specials in awhile. I feel like him & a lot of Rogan’s crew just complain about cancel culture.

I find it as tired as airplane humor. I want jokes/funny stories not to be lectured at. Maybe his new one is better, but that’s the vibe I got from his recent stuff.

I'm waiting impatiently for all episodes to be in so I can binge it. I just can't watch stuff weekly anymore. I lose interest or forget about it. If I can't watch it all now I am not interested. Loved season one of this and really want to see the new season.

I remember watching a Star Trek - The Next Generation episode titled "Darmok" in which Picard is stranded on a planet with another person. Picard ends up telling the other person an ancient Mesopotamian myth about Gilgamesh and Enkidu. Those two names somehow stuck with me after that episode.

Years later, I use to read a cryptocurrency web page touting the seemingly endless creation of new crap coins. I nearly fell out of my chair laughing when one day I saw a Gilgamesh crap coin and a Enkidu crap coin. There were dudes continuously rolling out new crap coins hoping something moons out of dumb luck or false hype.

I stopped watching A Murder at the End of the World after 3 or 4 episodes, but after seeing ads for it at the end of commercial breaks while watching Fargo and seeing reviews ranging from great to boring decided to give another go.

I just finished it, and I am going with boring, if you never watched this, you will have missed nothing. It could have been better, but just too drawn out.
