Duh, not sure why I didn't think of this, but The Wonder Years is a great comedy/drama series acceptable for the whole family

It is a touch over an 8 year Olds head, but my daughter enjoyed it starting at about ten.

Yea Wonder Years is a good call, but like anything perhaps more recent?

Just seems weird that there is not something that immediately springs to mind.

You would have thought several cultural artifacts would inhabit this space.

All the recommendations are basically tween school dramas. Maybe I can tolerate these being on, but as a 43 year old man, I dont think I am going to get that invested.

Stranger Things showed the blueprint imo, it was just a bit to dark/scary, need something along those lines, strange menace to group of ten year old kids in a small town somewhere/borrow heavily from Spielberg.

It just seems remarkable there is nothing really definite in this space, something that gets the whole family discussing plot theories etc etc.

Anyway off to pen Raiders of the lost aliens pirate treasure.

Fresh off the boat mixes adult/child humor the best of any recent show.

Merlin, imo. I found it a bit too young for me personally, but I could deal with it as a family option.

Once upon a time probably a better option now that I think about it.

Edit: FOTB is Hulu I think but that would be good too (though different).

I second the Merlin rec, I think both kids and adults would like it.

Along those same lines there's Legend of the Seeker although I don't know if it's still on IW.

You suggested Saved by the Bell.

You really think adult family members want to watch that.

Do you? Amazing if so.

That is some heavy heavy fail.

Anyway, I guess I should exit thread, if someone is going to suggest those shows but I am the one going to draw heat for pointing out how poor they are, I guess I am not going to have a good community experience.

Friends is one of the best TV series of all time

What exactly do you want? Critically acclaimed shows for 10 year olds? Gtfo.

I mean, is something like Futurama too adult for kids? I don't know. I don't have kids and haven't been one for quite some time.
