There must be hundreds of millions, if not billions, of transformers in the US alone. More than 4 a year are made.

I deleted my post since it seemed like derail was done.

Could be some truth to what you said though. Solar flares can fry transformers in the electrical grid. Solar flares can induce extra current in transmission lines which could end up overloading equipment like transformers.

Could be a limited supply of some class of really huge transformer that is important to the electrical grid.

I just looked it up to see if I was grossly mistaken, and yea, I think they're talking about the super transformers that control entire electrical grids for cities and ****.

If you're worried about it you can get solar power with batteries. Might not help you get on the internet though.

This Ebola stuff looks like a Disney movie compared to the documentary Countdown To Zero. Cliffs: Unless nuclear weapons become much less prevalent their use is inevitable given a long enough timeline, and of course use begets use.

I would watch the **** out of a Disney movie about Ebola. The songs would be awesome.

Sadly, nothing better could happen to the planet, than some disease we can't stop that kills 95% of the humans on Earth. Bring it on!

All you have to do is not touch anyone, right?

Everyone on 2p2 is safe.

yeah flying an ebola patient to Atlanta seems like a great idea.

The CDC has had highly publicized lab breaches of both Anthrax and H5N1 here in the last couple months. What could go wrong!

Very well played.

Count me on the "this is a terrible idea bringing Ebola to the US" camp. Isn't that why they closed the borders in Sierra Leone?

Seems like an unnecessary risk to take.

The U.S. government says not to worry. That means it's time to stock up on food and ammo.
