Man, that is not the Martin Brodeur I spent my senior year of high school raging in vain against.
02-21-2010 , 11:31 PM
Marty just loves America.

Freeway = no cross-traffic, no signals
Expressway = limited cross-traffic, controlled by signals
Highway = pretty much anything not falling into the above two categories that still has more than 1 lane in each direction
02-22-2010 , 12:04 AM
We do not have the term expressway here.

This is a lie! There are streets in goddamn lil' ol' Bellingham, WA that have more than 1 lane in each direction and they are most definitely not 'highways'.

Hell some of the surface streets in Vegas have the same number of goddamn lanes than the 215.

I cannot think of a FREEWAY here that has lights, wtf nbats.

That hockey game was great- it basically converted me to a fan mid game.

I'm pretty sure there's a legal definition in terms of funding and ownership that determines what's a highway and what's not, imo. I have no idea what it is.

I read somewhere that nothing enters the public domain in the US until 2019. Is this true?
02-22-2010 , 12:30 AM
You mean besides stuff that's in the public domain now?

That wasn't intended as an absolute, just what I typically see in California. "Highway 1" is a highway by name, but is largely 2-lanes with partially controlled cross-traffic.

Dear OOT,

From where I sit I can access two (2) wireless networks with five bars. One is my own. The other has a different name from mine (generic, 'D-Link Wireless') but shares my SSID. It's not the same network, though, because I can't connect to it with my saved password. AFAIK the appearance of this new network is a pretty recent phenomenon though I can't quite recall when I first saw it. I've also been having clogged / periodically disconnecting tubes issues for a while.

WTF is going on. Am I being spoofed?
02-22-2010 , 03:02 AM
nath's revenge imo.

Could be an old connection you set up that is in the connection table.

That hockey game was tremendous. I'm with Dids. I might have been made a hockey fan yesterday, although I started liking it during the Russia/Czech game, which was also pretty sweet but didn't end up holding a candle to USA/Canada.
02-22-2010 , 10:52 AM
Somebody who knows hockey should tell us how atypical that game was. I know there were a lot less commercials, which helped a ton.
