So you didn't even have to wake up early for work? damn bro

I bet between 11:30-1:00, his marinating brain thought he would be able to convince you to let him crash because you let him before. Did he even try at 1 so you had to tell him no twice, or did he just split without asking?

I feel it's a mild dick move, but assuming he isn't blackout not accepting the cab fare is a much bigger dick move.

oh no there was a long discussion about it at 1, then he kind of spite left. i think i more resented the idea that he thought he was going to stay the night the entire time, like that was his plan for the beginning. i don't mind someone staying over if that's just the way the night turns out, but i don't like having guests and he knows that, and just assuming i have an open sleepover policy is douchey, imo.

By "studied linguistics," I assume you mean "spoken English."

Huh? I'm nearly certain 'irregardless' is not technically correct but is used anyway. The reason people sound like buffoons when they say it is because many people know that it is not standard usage. What's so interesting about the forte case is that the pronunciation everybody here is saying is stupid and ******ed (and yes, I thought so too) actually turns out to be the original correct one.

Involved as I am with specialized French-derived technical vocabulary, I've probably heard the word 'forte' spoken aloud as 'FORT' quite a bit more than any other way.

He broke both ankles, a vertabrae, wrist, and dislocated his foot. He killed himself 5 years ago never fully recovering/returning to bmx.

Somebody as ESPN is getting fired!

Look it up. Its listed as a variation or something.

It's basically America saying "Well, enough dumbasses use it, let's just make it an acceptable variation of the correct word instead of pointing and laughing."

Next stop...orientated.

That's what I'm saying. It's entered as a corruption and is still noted as such. This is exactly the opposite of "for-tay," which was apparently a mispronunciation that has now become the standard.

For-tay is not strictly a mispronunciation but rather can be viewed as confusion about the original origin of the word in English. Taking after the French, we'd say "fort." But the Italians have the same word spelled the same way and meaning the same thing, and more people may encounter the Italian word and pronunciation through music. Thus, For-tay.

What is bad about this? Idiot does something stupid and they laugh at it? Later on he dies.

Are we not allowed to laugh at Chris Farley?
02-04-2010 , 02:28 PM
Well ESPN seemed to think given that at the end they said "don't worry he was ok"
02-04-2010 , 02:31 PM
Nothin wrong with it as long as they didn't know he died, and the clip was funny.

Just posting to make sure Landonfan knows that Carly Patterson turns 22 today, which I'm sure puts her out of his target age range.
