You're right but at least I AM going to write my book after years of putting it off.

And watching TV makes me just like the president so how bad can that be?

Along these lines I feel like I should be taking this opportunity to learn to strum a few chords on the guitar, but I don't want to buy a guitar

Anybody an expert on writing essays in APA format? That's what I'm doing for entrance into grad school to "pass" time.

So much for that slight downturn in deaths. USA was #1 yesterday.

Seems indefensible considering what the experts are saying.

Also, the southern states that are actually coming around seem to be coming around way too late..

So what is the consensus regarding walks/bike rides? I live in the suburbs, not particularly crowded but on a nice day there's a good number of people out walking. I try to stay away from others, crossing the street when necessary, but occasionally you will need to pass others on a sidewalk. This is in NJ near NYC so obv lots of COVID around. Would you consider this needlessly risky? I really do feel like an evening walk or bike ride is keeping me sane at this point.

-Play video games. (If you don't own any, get a Switch.)
-Finally catch up on all the shows/movies.
-Finally catch up on all the books, reread some faves.
-Do online hangouts with friends. I've been playing D&D like this for 3+ years.
-Learn a crafting hobby, make something tangible with my hands.
-As you noted, finally write that "great American novel" (at least get started).
-Start a podcast.
-Play board games (if you aren't totally isolated). There are some great new ones, and classics like chess are always fun.
-Do yoga.
-Plant a garden.
-Teach myself to change the oil in my car, because it's important or whatever.
-No mopping floors, but it would be relieving to purge some junk and de-clutter stuff that hasn't been used in over a year.
-Play with my cats because I guess they love me.
-Shoot a short film.
-Get my editing rig back online, put a project together that makes me smile.
-In the same vein, get back into tinkering with app development and game design.
-Create some music with my gal.
-Write a paper relating early cultures (Babylonians, Akkadians, etc.) to emergent post-apocalyptic cultures (Mad Max).
-Get much, much better at cooking.
-Do and/or learn small repairs such as sewing.
-Learn how to cut hair so that it doesn't look terrible.
-Animal Crossing. Seriously, I would play so much Animal Crossing.
My favorite part of this is anyone thinking they can find a Switch right now.

Assuming you take the proper precautions when removing your hazmat suit after your walk this seems fine.

In absolutely totally coincidental news, Army lab Fort Detrick was re-opened yesterday(After being shut down last year for lab violations involving a redacted(for public health reasons) "select agent" shortly before the 2019 Military Games in Wuhan in October) and now they think they are close to a cure. These are all literal facts lol

Okay, I didn’t realize people were scalping Switches right now. Regardless, there’s a plethora of other gaming devices in existence, including your phone.

There’s also the rest of the damn list.

You're projecting, those are real things that happened. Agreed it's easy to think up crazy possibilities given all the redacted information we have

No, of course not. When i've been out walking, however, i've found others to be quite courteous and people almost universally either step into the street or a lawn to keep as much distance as reasonably possible between people passing one another. It would seem (obviously without clinical support) that passing someone on a street is much less likely to transmit an infection than passing them in an enclosed hallway or sitting near them at dinner or at a sports event, or packed in with them at a rave. So I'm guessing it is likely fine. Obviously, I'm no expert.

I'm not objecting to either fact but rather to your silly thesis that the two facts are somehow causally linked.
