Not sure how you jumped to “vaccine can’t be trusted,” but okay. Pretty sure the point was the American administration can’t be trusted, especially due to the unprecedented politicizing of this event (yes, on both sides).

From masks, to shutdowns, to vaccines, it’s been one blunder after another.

But speaking globally, everyone should always be cautious about any brand new vaccine, for obvious reasons. I recall plenty of health professionals recommending caution during the first rounds of the chicken pox vaccine.

Will you be signing up for the first testing trials for this one? Volunteers are needed.

It does take time to find out if there are long-term effects from a vaccine and taking one soon means you are taking a risk without knowing if it is safe long term

The shortest time to market before was 4 years for a vaccine. Doing it this quickly does carry risks, regardless of who is in charge.

I feel like there's got to be a pretty good level of knowledge to what side effects there could be and the probability of the rate of its occurance. It's not like this is the first vaccine ever made or something.

There has to be enough similarities with other things that exist where it's not like a total wild card or something.

idk I guess if I'm wrong a vaccine expert can chime in and correct me, but personally I'd feel fine to take the first round if they made it available. Just my feeling on it.

They rushed the 1976 swine flu vaccine. The vaccine turned out to cause Guillain-Barre like symptoms in select people. Some ended up paralyzed.

I remember my Mom had that scar on her arm. Looking back at it now, I find it crazy that they didn't do it somewhere on the lower region or something. It was a pretty substantial scar.

idk, I hope so. But I remember reading about how a vaccine can also make a person hype-sensitive to a virus. Causing them have a worse reaction. It seems to be a difficult problem.

Like the video that was posted here a few weeks ago, the scientist says it takes 2 days to create a vaccine. Testing to see what problems it causes is the hard part.

I hope the fact that there are currently no vaccines for anything in the pre-corona virus family isn't telling.

With that said, I really have no knowledge of past or present levels of vaccine design and manufacturing capability.

I have a dumb question....(have not read much of this thread - sorry if asked before)
If there are say numerous vaccines that all get approved worldwide in near roughly the same time - say Pfizer, Moderna and Glaxo to name 3. How do we decide which one we get. Or do we have no real choice and it simply depends on what CVS in Florida vs say Walgreens in PA gets allocated. Are some vaccines only going to be made in some countries and not shared / sold in other countries? How do they allocate them? Will some people wait for the "better" company X version vs the first to market company Y version?

Our business ships hundreds of orders a day through the USPS. It's increasingly getting worse and worse. I'm sure many of you are starting to feel it on your end. It's not isolated it is country wide.

- packages are not being tracked
- packages are arriving at hubs in the wrong part of the country
- we have a new postmaster general
- Our president is very concerned with voter fraud via mailing.

I'm predicting within a month or two everybody gonna be talking about the USPS.

I predict they are backing up the entire system, with the end game being all prior mail before ballots needs to be delivered before ballots.

Still don't really get how Trump is able to just run roughshod over every conceiveable rule of law in our country, but here we are. For example, I don't get how he can just inject a campaign donor into the top spot in the USPS with absolutely no experience and/or vetting of any kind. I honestly don't understand how there are not safegaurds in place that he can not f with.

So much of our country was run on norms and people wouldn’t dare put an unqualified donor into those positions

Trump has no shame and cares nothing for norms so now we’ve learned we need to spend a good amount of time codifying norms into laws to prevent this **** in the future

I used to ***** about the USPS like everyone else, then I traveled a bit and realized how ****ing great our postal system is to everywhere else.

Whether it's worth the money or not I have no idea, but it's pretty ****ing nice

I don't mean that to sound condescending or douchey (I reread it and think it could easily be taken that way), I just mean that the stereotype is that its slow and it sucks and I think that's how most people think, but I no longer do.

It has already started. Basically new Postmaster General starts implementing terrible changes which result in mail being delayed. Carriers have been taught delaying mail is a crime, so yeah.

He started cutting office time, overtime. USPS already doesn't have enough employees to cover everything.

The USPS is a service to Americans. They're trying to turn it into some profitable business.

I also don't get how you can own millions of dollars in competitor companies and start running it into the ground.
