Project Fi's "automatic connection to open hotspots" is the same as the Google Pixel feature (wifi assistant), correct?

I've been underwhelmed by it in the year+ I've had my Pixel - seems like open hotspots are increasingly rare, and almost all now require you to click through a splash page or enter a password. Frustrating.

I've installed a helpful app called WiFi Web Login which navigates the splash pages and passwords automatically in the background when you connect to such a hotspot.

I got mine off Amazon and the seller was edge cellular.

Wasn't labeled brand new, had a standard quick lg charger that wasn't stock, but still looked good and has done well,so I bought another v20 for my kid about the same time and he likes it too.

It doesn't come with a screen protector, but they're cheap and we buy phone cases off eBay for cheap as well.

Had no idea about the free cloud storage, but I always use a memory card, just habit, and a little leery of having stuff on the web.

So maybe mine were returned for something before the offer was used.

I'm kinda leaning towards they've never been used but maybe weren't perfect in condition (scratches or overruns) and couldn't be advertised as brand new.

My Android phone (8.0) can not be synced to another phone , as i know ,Android devices are all the same.the sync process will can be allowed , i used to switched Samsung to iPhone, but now i can not be allowed to do ,maybe we need to root my phone ?

Camera is the most expensive criteria.
Give a budget that is reasonable to you and people can suggest a phone in that range with a decent camera.

Not ridiculous. Check xiaomi A1 and look for review of camera with pictures to see if it match your needs.
Budget phones have okeish camera that sux in low light settings mostly.

Camera is the main area where high end phone really provide value. The rest is fine.
The 75 to 200$ range has some really decent choices now.

Pixel was borderline early enough for it to be ok. I was shocked when the Pixel 2 came out that it didn't have it. I may upgrade to the Pixel 3 if it does, if it doesn't, I'll be REALLY disappointed with Google.

I hate paying full price for brand new phones, but I have to get something soon.
Im still on a Droid Turbo and the GPS has completely failed. It worked only intermittently for the past year, but now it won't find location at all which makes nav completely useless. Plus its getting old and kind of slow.

So I'm looking for something that
1) has comparable battery life and durability to the Turbo
2) is not an iPhone
3) Verizon compatible



Right now I'm looking at:
Google Pixel 1 128G- manufacturer refurb - $300
Price is right, but warranty is only 30 days unless I purchase a separate policy at 1year/~$40

Google Pixel 2 64G, $650 at Costco, (various rebates available on trade ins, not sure if Turbo qualifies at all)

Anything else I should be looking at in a similar price range?
I really really prefer something that can be charged wirelessly, but if Pixel/Pixel 2 is the best for my money I could live without a wireless dock.
