Can someone tell me if this is true or not? Also would it be foolish to send btc to bittrex without sending verification first? Im planning to use btc to buy altcoins and someone suggested do not send btc to bittrex until you send in the verification. But does anyone know why basic verification does not work? The other person mentioned they do not know why.

Also do most of you download wallets for each specific altcoin? Thus if you have 25 altcoins... you download 25 wallets? Of course you download btc, litecoin, eth wallet but what about those other wallets? Or do you keep them in the exchange? But if you have a lot then its would be risky there so im wondering what do most of you do with your other altcoins especially if you have a lot of it.
You can type these questions into YouTube and find ton of people demoing where to best store each coin (some have special wallets only for that coin so you can "stake" on the network and earn some sort of reward depending on the coin). Ledger Nano S stored almost every coin I bought and if it couldn't be stored there it could be stored on MyEtherWallet.

What coins can you store on the ledger nano s? I have a myetherwallet account. It doesn't show any other coins though. I checked my account but it does not show anything else etc.

Can anyone here who use bittrex and/or sent documents recently can tell me if they verify easily? And would it be foolish to send btc there without verification? I believe they changed a lot of withdraw limits on bittrex. I have acct there but never deposited.

I’ll like the big 3 BTC, LTC, ETH. All three on coin base. All 3 should go up 5x by 2018.

Ppl are throwing poop at the wall, hitting green charts, convincing themselves they're brilliant. Haven't seen the market like this since the last hard correction.

IOTA is sure doing well. Their development team recently did a lot of work on improving the software and they have been busy holding conferences to promote it, and they are traveling around the world to corporations to make partnerships. Binance has listed IOTA, too. As an investor that's the kind of effort you want to see. Some of theses other coins are real attractive ideas on paper but you never know how motivated an alt coin development team is to push their project. There is a real risk that once they get a pile of investor cash they can get bored and lazy with their own project and nothing gets done. Bitcoin and Ethereum are doing well because their development teams are sharp and really dedicated to making it succeed.

IOTA, and its Tangle ledger, is really brilliant and unique and seems to be step ahead of standard blockchain technology. Since IOTA's price has risen a lot, I hesitate to recommend investing in IOTA right now. It may have gotten too high too fast. Hard to know. I do own some.

arent there a ton of problems with the iota wallet?

yeah the IOTA desktop wallet has a new connection issue every two weeks or so. Its amazing the IOTA price went up through all that. But it is a new invention, the wallet is based on a total different system than any bitcoin wallet, so it is going through growing pains. Its getting fixed.

BTW The smartphone wallet seems to work fine.

If I was wanting to buy something more than BTC, such as Ripple, for example, what exchange would you recommend?
(LOL: Just noticed I asked the same thing as Bob. ) )

Haha no problem man. Think bitfinex seems to be the place to be if you're out of the US, but must buy with BTC/ETH?

Just need to figure out how to transfer and what not now

I don't endorse any exchange or coin. It is all risky and sometimes overly complicated.

Bittrex in Nevada has most of the alt coins except not IOTA yet
Binance (Hong Kong) for IOTA plus others
If you are not in the US, then Bitfinex(IOTA plus many more)

Notes on some BTC exchanges for US/Canada/UK residents:

1.Coinbase/Gdax (San Fran)-for frequent trading in USD/BTC use the GDAX part of Coinbase rather than the Coinbase wallets to save fees; Coinbase has easy bank acct funding amd paypal withdrawal but at a higher fee than others
2.Kraken (San Fran) -great for low fee trading among USD/many coins;Canadians also seem to like it; USD deposit/withdrawal available but slower, less convenient; the kraken phone app works better than its website
3.Poloniex (SF/Montana?)-does not trade or fund in USD so inconvenient, but is highly used
4.Gemini (NY)-reliable underused exchange owned by billionaire Winklevoss twins, decent reviews, has USD funding. Not available in AZ
5.Cex.io (UK)-nice for small credit card btc exchanges or wires. Not available in AZ
6.Bittrex (Las vegas)-good for special coins trading;no USD
7.QuadrigaCX (vancouver) more for Canadians.
8.HitBtc (london) ive used them and seems ok .

They are going to back a crypto with oil, gold , and diamonds. In theory this would work much like tether but in practice idk how it would be any different from their current currency. I guess at this point anything is better.

I'm very new to cryptos overall, am not tech savvy, and I find it's easy to use. I have BTC, ETH, LTC, (and a couple alt coins stored on it via myetherwallet). Just make sure you write down your 24 seed words and and don't lose that piece of paper. There's plenty of good tutorials on youtube.

(Fyi, if you dabble in Litecoin be careful you don't send it to your nano via a bitcoin address. You have to download a separate app for litecoin and use a litecoin addy. I sent a couple coins to my bitcoin addy by mistake and now the coins are lost in limbo forever. There is a way to get them back but it's way beyond my capabilities. I googled my mistake and a lot of other people have lost coins this way.)

I wish there was a way to keep track of all the people($ amount) who have gotten screwed/will get screwed by sending their BCash or BTCGold to BTC addresses.
