Anyone know what the current state of tournament tickets/auto-registration by Merge software is? I was looking to start playing some satellites in order to stock up for September's OPS, however all I can remember from this thread is that Merge keeps auto-registering you for MTT's as it sees fit and that even if you unregister you sometimes get re-registered. I've been avoiding satellite tourneys because of this. Anyone have any good news on this?

Fees? Deposit using WU/MG and any deposit > $300 they cover the fees.

Yea well unfortunately the last time I deposited I was not aware of this and ended up getting stuck with a pretty solid fee. Not a huge deal tho as I don't have to deposit very often (flex) Obviously it's mostly my own fault that I didn't do my homework, but I'm sure there's plenty of recreational type players who aren't aware either and eat the fee's everytime they choose to load up on the sites.

Had a big old rant typed out about the check fees but meh, I don't want to be THAT GUY. Really wish they would consider dropped the fees slightly ($25 or something out of every max check seems much more reasonable).

I've helped people sign up using WU with less than $100 and not only did the fee get credited to their poker account, but they didn't have to do anything or ask for it, it just automatically shows up with their other funds simultaneously. Easy as pie. Use the WU online service if you can rather than going to a real live person (we are online players after all, screw real human interaction) :-)

Yea I got stuck with the fee's before I learned about the beauty of online western union! now depositing and punting money is a BREEZE. Big +1 to no human interaction and F leaving the house. <3

Yea I take this back clearly this charge must've been from the card/banks end of things and not a fee from merge, but still (mad tilt roll) @ the withdrawl fees

I have no idea. I didn't even think to bring it up--simply told them to send in documents prior to requesting a withdrawal by check. But I got them online

Imagine my joy when i saw my skrill withdrawal had several hundred dollars deducted from it for no reason!

5% withdrawal fee for all ROW withdrawals is now is merge's new policy. In contrast to the free checks or 3% fee for usa players. Ironic thing is how paying and collecting USA players payments is much more expensive than to pay a ROW player who uses a legal skrill withdrawal.

Merge is targeting ROW players even harder, simply because they are disproportionately winners and can get away with it.

Anyone have solid info on the restrictions, like a set amount of $, profit, or games played that you need to be falling under to not trigger anything?

I tried support but they've officially gone full robot, literally reading from a script. They used to break character every once in a while to give a real answer.

The only thing I see related to restricting players in the TOC is:
"12. Limited Use and Acknowledgement of Risk
The Games are for entertainment only, and your participation in the Games is solely for your own personal enjoyment and non-professional use."

Besides that, they have a clause in there stating that at any time, without notice or reason, they can seize any U.S. player's (or anyone playing from a prohibited location's) funds.
I'm guessing/hoping that's only in there in case of B.F. 2.0, but has anyone ever had Carbon this (playing from the U.S.) as a reason for seizing their funds?

So now they not only don't offer rakeback and expect us to pay 100s or 1000s of dollars a month into their business in the form of rake, but they want to charge us 3% for them to send us our money? Seems like I'll be looking for a better option for another site to play on soon.

this is just signs of a failing business......when a site resorts to such drastic tactics the money is running thin - I wouldn't be leaving much money on this site guys

^ yet they have been consistent in payouts? Your logic seems a bit off. This isn't a company that's failing, it's a company greedily trying to take advantage of their position in the current US market.

New hand history blows.. Half the time I can't even pull the history and it lags my gameplay quite a bit.. Carbon tried to get too fancy IMO.

You don't know the future of payouts.....I think failing to process payouts would be the final step in a failing company so these could be measures they're taking hoping to right the ship...Hopefully I'm wrong but this is definitely troublesome

You're right, you can't predict the future. But that holds true for EVERY poker site. All you can do is base assumptions on present and past and Merge has been consistent for a very long time. Can't believe I'm saying something positive!

I think that PT4 missed some cash games being imported yesterday but it also could have been my system.

When you make a deposit, it's no longer your money. It's not your money again technically until it's in your hand - but at least Merge is going to pay you in a timely manner. I mean, all due respect, sir, but you ought to know about being truly screwed over by a poker company. Merge is Merge, and yes, 3% is higher than 0%. But there's being screwed, and then there's being screwed.

I don't know...maybe win more? Win 3% more than you would normally. I mean, for those of you cashing out regularly (of which this affects about 2% of the population on Merge), this amounts to a few more pennies being taken out of what's coming to you. Is it worth going elsewhere over? That's your call, for sure.

Of course. It's all coming to an end. Getting the tinfoil hats readied.

What you call drastic tactics some places call SOP. The end of rakeback was long ago foretold, sir. If you couldn't see it coming from the 9,373 mile-distance it travailed to get here, then I'm afraid I have some bad news for you. It's not coming back. WPN is the rare exception, but look at places like Equity rooms Full Flush and Pokerhost - that's the future of VIP rewards.

And don't think because they stop giving rewards that they are obviously and all of a sudden insolvent. Poker ops counts for about as much as you pay your cleaning staff to scrub your floors for you every day.

Spoiler:
It's not a lot of money in the grand scheme of things.

I'm sorry ihas, to say it's no longer your money after you deposit is just wrong.

I was having trouble with the new hand history too. The software even crashed a few times while playing. It also wouldn't show most recent hands, basically frozen. I asked customer support through online chat and they said I was the only one having this problem. Wanted me to send in my carbon poker files from my hard drive. I just uninstalled/reinstalled the poker softeware and it seems to be working fine now.
