Thanks for the info. Do I go directly from Ignition to Circle to the bank? Is that how it works?

A player from my local college team is placed in the banner ads asking me to bet on sports. I'm guessing that may be based on my ip address.
Just called them for a status update. We're about 75 hours out. The rep was pretty friendly, I ask him to look into the cashout and once he gets the info up, verifies the amount, he goes "hmmm" and the line goes silent. He puts me on hold 3 times in a row for like a minute each time. Finally he comes back and says that due to the "high volume" of the cashout (I assume he meant amount) the process is taking a little longer and that's why the email says cashouts are processed approximately 24 -48 hours after request. Then he says to "keep" periodically checking for status updates.

I'm not too crazy about those words, "approximately" and "keep".

Sure, if you want the possibility of your Circle account being closed for sending/receiving money from a gambling site. Watch the video. A link was posted in post #24720.

1) Open a free bitcoin wallet. Lots of wallets but most use blockchain.info The wallet acts as a buffer since exchanges will close accounts used for gambling

2) Open an account on a bitcoin exchange. Circle.com or coinbase.com

For withdrawals: poker site>wallet>exchange>bank account.
For deposits: bank account>exchange>wallet>poker site.

Most important. Watch EndTheFed's videos:

If you don't have the withdrawal option you might have to make a min deposit to unlock it.

If you do have the withdrawal option without making a deposit you should still watch the deposit video because it shows which sites you need to sign up on to use for the withdrawal.

Incessent connectivity problems are highly annoying. I've cleared my cookies/cache, restarted my computer.
Once it is working, I often lose connectivity to the table and am unable reload. Highly frustrating!!!

"We are unable to establish a connection. Please check your connection and try again." Haunts me

BTC Approved and in Blockchain 4:15pm.

I'm going to miss these fast times.

They emailed me saying:

We're contacting you with regard to your pending Check by Courier payout request/s. We'd like to discuss an alternate payment method that will get larger amounts to you faster. We kindly ask that you contact us at your earliest convenience so we can do so over the phone.

You can call the regular service line at 1-888-263-0000 and ask to be transferred to Player Advocacy at ext. 2755 or provide us with a convenient time and phone number to reach you. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
So I called and they said the wire transfer couldn't go through because my bank would know it was for poker, but that I could use a business checking account or a friend's account instead. I didn't like that plan, so I asked if they could mail a check and they said fine. The funds are not available in my poker account but the check is supposed to be en route. "Officially" she said it takes 10-15 days but "probably" more like 7.

Received a confirmation email with a confirmation number.

Create also a Copay.com account...this is where you can have another wallet to transfer all your winnings from bovada to...You can only transfer bitcoin from bovada to a address once...so thats why you cannot use xcoins wallet to stash your winnings...bovads will only allow you to send it there one time....they want you to create unique addresses...Xcoins gives you a permanent one

Kr@ken BTC WD

9/21 requested
9/23 received

Only lost ~$30 (fee for wire transfer and fee for btc conversion to usd) overall and satisfied with the overall service. It takes about a day to complete verification to enable wire transfer to bank. The wire transfer was in USD so no money lost due to conversion.

Contacted Bovada, told them the story, and immediately asked that a stop payment be be issued. It has been 11 days since the request and the only response I get from Bovada is that they have forwarded my request to the "withdrawal team."

Since the check was coming from Singapore, I think I am screwed. DHL only tells me that the shipper must make a claim, not me.

Bottom line....Bitcoin may seem like a hassel, but one does not have to depend on multiple middlemen to perform to get one's money.

I will post followups as they occur.
Good News (for me)!!

I just received email from Bovada stating the stop payment has been issued and that the entire $500 has been credited back to my account and that I can withdraw immediately if i desire. They even waived the $40 stop payment fee I had agreed to.

I was doubtful I would recover the money what with the check coming from Singapore and the DHL "screwup" but Bovada came thru and I am impressed with them.

Question from a friend who isn't on the forum:

He recently received a $3k check, and his bank (major bank) said it will take 4-6 weeks for the funds to clear. He's in a spot where he needs $ quicker if possible, I'm trying to find potential solutions for
him. Will a check-cashing outlet take it?

In the past, my bank(different than my buddy uses) has released the funds quickly, although my understanding is it does take time for their processing and I am liable liable for all funds should anything happen

if it's one of the big banks, and his account is in good standing, it shouldn't take that long.

my bank told me awhile back that they were going to start doing similar holds, and I told them I was going to use a different bank. they came back and said they would make an exception in my case, and haven't heard them bring it up since.

Stupid Question

I am trying to make my first bitcoin withdrawal from Bovada. I am using blockchain and get a new address as required. When i try to copy and paste the new address to the Bovada withdrawal page it will not work. (the paste part). I have tried using both Firefox and Exployer, but neither work.

MY stupid question: Do I have to manually enter the very long blockchain address? I am fearful that i may make an error and really screw things up.

Thanks in advance for any help.

I called customer service. They told me to try withdrawal from the Web site, not the poker software. I did this...AND IT WORKED!!
