Help, thanks

The past few days there has been a very high amount of activity on the network.

Unconfirmed transactions are thrown into whats called a Mempool. Once confirmed, your transaction is added to a block in the bitcoin ledger. Visit this website when you want to check the backlog of transactions

https://tradeblock.com/bitcoin/

Your transaction could also get held up in the mempool if you didn't pay a sufficient fee

Can someone confirm the withdrawal fees? I asked coinbase support about this and they said the 1.49% fees are for buying and selling btc on coinbase. There are no fees for depositing from or withdrawing to your bank account.

For example if you deposited $1k and decide not to buy btc, you could then send the money back to your bank account and still have $1k.

If there were fees involved you would lose 3% ($30) on the roundtrip transfer.

Their message below:

To clarify, the 1.5% fee on coinbase is for buys and sells. GDAX has a 0% maker fee or 0.25% taker fee. Neither Coinbase nor GDAX charge for moving USD funds to/from a bank account, although we do pass along a $.15 bank ACH fee if the bank charges it to us but that’s all.

Any input would be appreciated. The last time I cashed out was a month ago. What is the standard time from requesting a cashout via btc to Ignition actually approving. Seems all the posts ive read itt say usually 3-12 hours, i requested on firday and still pending in my cashier. Anybody wait up to the 48hrs or beyond of Ignition to approve? Thanks

I called CS right after I posted this, they said they were having some delays, and literally two minutes after it shows up in my blockchain

you can link your bank account to your coinbase acct and sell it that way or you can link your paypal and sell it that way though i think directly selling to bank account is better since i think there are more fees with paypal. not sure about fees.

i think the easiest way for him would be to request a check. one free check every 3months. also i dont think bovada is allowed in states where online poker is legal and regulated, ie nevada, new jersey. im not sure but i think you would have a problem if you tried to send the check to one of those states.

Just an FYI, last two years there have been delays in withdrawals after the super bowl. Now with BTC, and the move to Ignition, there may be no delays, but just a forewarning, that it's possible.

Thanks for the information. It's good to know we have credible US based Bitcoin storage option, even if they do make us take a photo holding up our DL/passport!

Can't confirm from recent experience but this is the way I've always known it to be, and the info on their website.

So if you use their exchange GDAX you should be able to sell with only a 0.25% fee, then transfer the money to the USD wallet on Coinbase and withdraw to bank for free.

Yeah, link your bank account and you can sell and get an ACH in 1-4 business days for 1.49%.

Or you can sell and have the money sent to PayPal for 3.99%

Have a $1k check in the mail from Ignition (hopefully, been 2 weeks...) but looking to set up Bitcoin to make things smoother. I have another $2.5k that I want to withdraw soon. Is the advice in the bitcoin start-up thread still the best?

Start a coinbase account and link to my bank and that's all I need to do? Thanks.

Yes and a bitcoin wallet, and then you're ready.

Ignition -> Your bitcoin wallet -> Coinbase -> Bank

Pros:

- No fee to convert bitcoin to USD
- No fee to use the card to make purchases
- Balance stays as fixed USD amount
- Convert bitcoin to cash in hand in minutes
- Bypass your bank account
- High limits: $10k a day load limit, $10k a day purchase limit, $25k max balance on card

Cons:

- It costs $10
- Might be more work to convert larger amounts of money on the card to cash: $750 per transaction / $3k day limit
- $2 fee per ATM withdrawal

IMO the cons are pretty negligible, but listed the ones I could think of anyway.

Highly recommend getting it.

Sorry if this has been discussed before. Is there anywhere that doesn't charge the 1.49% for withdrawing and buying bitcoin? I am using coinbase and those fees add up when withdrawing or buying alot. Thanks in advance for any help

You can use their own exchange GDAX and it only has a 0.25% fee each way.

You can transfer USD and BTC instantly for free between your Coinbase and GDAX accounts.

Simple question i hope . Ive been looking but dont see answer that applies . If you deposit with a "netspend card" on ignition and dont want to use bank account for withdrawal what are your options ? im under the impression bitcoin is only option (i have no bitcoin account as of now) . This is future tense and im only asking assuming ill need a cashout in the future . I realize it will give me options when im ready to do so but would like to know if i should open bitcoin account now...Thank you!
