Apologize in advance for being lazy and not searching the thread for the answer to a question I'm sure has been answered many times.

I've always requested checks, but wanted to try the direct bank transfer as my monthly free withdrawal. Those have always been in U.S. dollars and I have never been charged a fee by my bank.

For, bank wires, the withdrawal page says:
"Bank wires are processed as foreign currency in increments not exceeding the equivalent of US $9,500, with one wire sent every 5-7 business days.

When your wire is confirmed as processed we will email you the currency, exchange rate, and amount. We do our best to minimize losses due to exchange rate fluctuations, but cannot guarantee the final rate that your bank will apply upon receipt of your wire."

Are the bank wires not processed in USD? Will I be charged an exchange rate fee if using this option? If so, what percent has that fee worked out to, for anyone who uses or has used the bank wire option?
Thanks!

The wire is processed in foreign currency and your bank will convert it to USD. Depending on the exchange rate you will be +/- $200ish. I did one a few months back for 7500 and my total was like 7321. Recently I've seen posts saying they actually made money on the exchange rate.

Its takes about 7-10 days once processed.

While she was doing it, she asked me if I had been to Canada recently. I said yeah, lol small talk.

Deposited on a saturday, she said funds wouldn't be available until Tuesday. Fine with me. Pretty easy.

Ok so my bank charged me $5.
It's $5 per Canadian item. I bank with the stagecoach bank.
I guess $5 is acceptable.

Have you talked to Bovada about this? I've gotten 2 WU's since then.

One was on 6/17 and I had cash in hand on 6/20 and the other was 6/28 and I had cash in hand on 7/3. Fwiw, the last one is the longest I've ever had to wait. I've read of some issues with WU elsewhere as well, maybe it depends on state?

Called way back on 6/25 Asked for check was told $ was sent nothing they could do. This was a Wed was told sender would be no later than Fri.

Called Next Wednesday, gave them two extra business days before calling.
Again said I want a check, they told me that the money was sent already on friday and would get sender info by this friday 100%. Which confirmed on first phone call no money was sent & rep was lying about having hands tied about sending check.

Have no clue why Bovada are being POS's to certain people? Maybe BODOgIce can elborate?

Bodog_Ice doesn't typically monitor or reply to this thread. Even if he did, he's posted dozens of times that he has nothing to do with anything cashier related.

Deposited check 6/30, 7/3 it was sent to collections. I use BOA as well, not sure if this is a recent cracking down or just an anomaly. It's the first time this has happened to me and I've been playing for years. I'm getting another check this week and going to deposit it through a teller again and see what happens. I'll try and avoid this particular teller though.

Hey Guys,

For setting up wires, how do i select a bank address? Just a specific branch, or is there a general address for these Big Banks?

Also, they ask for Bank Information, then Intermediary Bank. What's the difference in those two?

Thanks,
-Eric

I deposited a check for a hair over $2000.00 into my bank account on Monday June 30th. I was called by the bank about 3 hours after depositing. I was told that any check from Canada over $999.99 has to be Fed Ex'd to their corporate office and they have to deposit it after verifying the check isn't fraud. They also told me it could be anywhere from 1-8 weeks for the funds to be available and that there could be multiple fees associated with the check due to it being from Canada, even though the check explicitly says "US FUNDS" next to the dollar amount. When I called back on Wednesday to check the status the lady at customer service told me the same canned response that the bank told me and that I could not talk to the department handling it because they don't take calls from customers, and that I would have to deal with customer service regarding this deposit. I have deposited over 10 checks since the beginning of the year, all from Canada, all less than $1,000. Those all cleared within two days. I hope this isn't a trend and something tells me that it's going to be a considerable amount of time before they allow access to my funds.

Never cashing out more than 1k at a time from now on, so I learned a lesson I guess.

Don't worry about it. I've only had one check sent to collections but IIRC it took a little over a month, like 5 weeks or so.

The bank address is the address of your home branch. The local neighborhood bank location that you signed up for your account at, or whatever.
Most major banks probably don't have an Intermediary Bank so you would leave that section blank. Just try to find info on the net about how your bank does it. You can also just call your banks 1-800 number and ask for all that info.
On a side note, I recently did a max wire withdrawal using my major bank, but will probably never do it again. It took less than 72 hours to get the money, but it was short about $150. My bank charges $25 and the rest was apparently the exchange rate. Not worth all the fees when it's free to just get checks. Still waiting to get the email from Bovada that lists all that.

I left the intermediary blank as well. For me, however, it was not my local branch's address that was needed, it was the address of the headquarters. Do some research online about receiving international wires to your bank. If you don't find all the info, then just call the customer service number. I lost about $170 on a $7500 wire, but it was quick and easy. Almost worth it in my opinion to avoid the possibility of getting drilled in the branch.
