Makes sense, right? I asked the same and am quite satisfied with the answer I got. The DoJ doesn't work for us. At all. They work for the government. Sooooo, it stands to reason that they need to hear from their bosses about this issue. Their bosses would be Congress (as well as President Obama). Pissing off the DoJ by badgering them daily might just break the wrong way for us. I don't know.
This I do know, however. If I had a ****load of money tied up with the DoJ, I'd probably write or call with a respectful request that they return my funds to me. (This is a lot different than when they stole a huge cigarette shipment from LaGuardia nearly a decade ago. Those of us counting on that shipment from Switzerland had to cut our losses and move on.)
I would definitely not hound them, like we are hounding Congress. I would not call/write more than once a month. If you have yet to do so even a single time, you have much to learn about advocating for your own best interests. (And, by "you," I mean every reader here, not the specific person to whose quote I am responding.)
