If there is no fine print on the subject yes can sue. Someone can ALSO sue even when there is a disclaimer, depending on the particulars of the case...an organisation does not get to waive their legal obligations by simply getting people to read or sign disclaimers.

No, I haven't. I still have some hope that the Epic Poker League will do the right thing, and send me a check. I have actually given them a deadline of September 23, 2011 to make that payment before I take any legal action against them.

To those who may have missed some of my prior posts.... I really do wish the Epic Poker League much success, although as each day passes, they seem to be losing more and more credibility within the Poker community.

I would urge each of you to give them ten (10) days to work this out internally. Let them have their little staff meetings, board meetings, damage control meetings, and whatever other types of meetings that they need to have, in order to come up with the solution to this problem (paying me my money). As I said, I have faith that they will eventually do the right thing in paying me the $18,500.00 balance that is due to me.

If they fail to make the right decision, if they fail to pay me what I am due, then I will procede to the Gaming Commission, to the Courts, and to the Mainstream Media (to protect other potential players from the possibility of getting ripped off as well).

It was suggested on my Hotline number today, that several of the Epic Members (players) would actually Boycott the next event (which is set for early December, 2011), if the Epic Poker League refused to do the right thing here. They would not be boycotting on MY behalf, but on behalf of the Poker community as a whole, because of the "unethical" way that the Epic Poker League has handled this situation thus far.

I'll keep y'all posted as things progress...

Forget your stupid 10 day "deadline", they're not gonna just cut you a check and drop it in the mail. The Nevada gaming commission is there for disputes EXACTLY like this one. If you would have called them THAT DAY, they would have been at the Palms within an hour and you would have either played in the tourney or got the 20k.

I posted their phone number back on like page 1 of this thread. Just use it and ****ing call them already and see what they can do for you.

Michael, I promise you that every time you post here or open your mouth in an interview, your support takes a hit. You have near unanimous support from these threads on the facts alone, and you should really rely on that rather than stting up hotlines, answering posts, doing interviews etc.

If you have an attorney advising you, and he has not told you to SFTU, I would fire him immediately, and if you do not have one, then....ummm...get one who agrees with me lol.

You seem like a guy that knows right from wrong so obviously you have some sort of sickness or inability to control yourself. Perhaps use some of the money to seek professional help but whatever you do please do the right thing and stay away from teenagers.

As I was reading this article on Pokernews, I immediately thought of the similarities to online poker security issues. Soooooo similar. And I'd love to hear from those who agree.

For everyone who has ever had money frozen/taken for technicality reasons and not INTENT (i.e. chip dumping because you couldn't transfer the funds, not because you were conducting some elaborate laundering scam), this certainly rings that bell.

So, the trend in this thread that we all agree that ethics are important to any environment of play, and that someone shouldn't be victimized because of their past after-the-fact. There certainly needs to be more contingent ruling, instead of just always broadly stating that 'a company reserves the right to make the final decision in any case'. Online, the only thing Poker sites need to say is 'OR ANYTHING ELSE WE DEEM,' and they can basically take your money for whatever "inappropriate reason" they feel like.

And I totally agree to the post that there needs to be better pre-screening of players. Noone ever raises an eyebrow until AFTER someone wins money. Until, AFTER you request a withdrawal online. Oh, this guy is trying to get paid. Now we care. Now we are going to look at everything to make sure it is legitimate. The same reason why ALL Poker sites only require you to send in documentation when making a WITHDRAWAL. NEVER on deposits.

Let me also just state that if Epic doesn't refund his money, I can't imagine it could do anything but discourage their already meek player field for the Pro A/Ms up until this point. For, now the 20k prize is clearly not liquid. And I'm not even sure what their policy is behind extreme cases for not being able to play, such as sickness or emergencies.

On the other hand, kudos to the Heartland Poker Tour for having a more open stance on eligibility.

Completely obvious situation. Strictly a PR move by Epic Poker after the Chino Rheem incident. Like Negraneau said, the EPL model is severely flawed. It's an exclusive club that offers amateurs a shot at pros that they have just made more exclusive. Amateurs drive the poker industry from a business standpoint... and exclusiveness repels that ideology.
Epic needs to wake up they will not last.

where can i findout what you did? i heard a story of you exposing yourself in a bathroom to someone and you got charged or you forced an underage girl to give you oral?

also, whichever crimes you did... are you deeply sorry? and are you getting help for your sickness? i had a friend, pretty much my best friend a few yrs ago get put away for a few yrs for the type of crime with little kids, when he gotout i told him i couldnt accociate myself with him anymore because he needs to get professional help 1st and get it outta his system.. if thats even possible.

did you tell the EPL youll sue them or anything? they shouldve did a backround check on you 1st

Devita, I was thinking in some ways you got the shaft. But every time you write, albeit how you genuinely feel, it's terrible in terms of you getting your money. At this point, given it's a signifcant amount of money, you need to hire an attorney, offer him a % (INCLUDING EV OBV), and let him do his work. And do yourself a favor and make sure he is a heavyweight attorney, given the lil bit of attn this has gotten on 2+2 (lol), a real good attorney may do you wonders. If your in Jersey I have a few.

Havng said that, just stop talking, because everythign your saying in a public forum is goign to be used against you in this. It is just terrible to continue the rhetoric at this point. Like I sadi earlier, I dont agree with the angle the EPL is taking.
