I dont think the State of New York cant shut down sites that are not based in the united states, even the FBI doesnt have jurisdiction outside of the US. SHIP 25k plz
#1; Did you make your withdrawal to Moneybookers, and did you get your money as soon as usual? I have stacks and stacks of dollars on FTP but not sure what to do yet.
Isn't withdrawing funds now a really STUPID idea? If the FBI has control of all of those accounts, people aren't really doing themselves any favors by making themselves visible.
I'm playing stakes I never played before right now with my monopoly money on Tilt. It's not much of a rush.
You cant hide from the Feds lol. And it's not like you can remain invisible when the Feds have seized the sites operations. Come on, use your head.
I can't believe the biggest thing is beig overlooked here.
When it's all regulated and done (FT, PS will be back; maybe with new management), taxes will kill many profitable players. Get ready to pay those Fed, State, local, and fica taxes boys and girls.
Thats not the worst part the worst part is that according to this link by kevmath http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/sh...&postcount=490
all of you people who didnt pay taxes ARE ****ED cause the fbi has access to stars internal accounts weeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.
****ing American government, if you want to ban poker for Americans then do that, but don't mess with other countries. It is 100% legal to play on Poker Stars in Canada, why is the site down for Canadians?
No wonder there are terrorists after Americans, you just do whatever the hell you want and piss everyone off. I don't hate you guys who are American on 2+2, but your country as a whole just puts me on tilt.
I'm an American and I ****ing hate this god damn country.
...
This is NOT a temporary glitch; all of these top sites (UB, Poker Stars, Full Tilt, etc) will be shut down permanently. They are done.
What happens to customer money? Well, it will be put on a priority list depending on how this affects the financial condition of the poker site. Usually (at least with Forex), client deposits were #1 on the list, however, if the sites go bankrupt (which they most likely will with no business being able to be transacted plus huge legal expenses), most depositors may only get pennies on the dollar and it most likely will be years down the line. The money is frozen currently and no transactions can be made until this whole legal process is completed. This obviously will take a lot of time (like I said several years).
None of these sites or the money are based in the USA. Legal danger to the backdoor owners of these sites should not affect non US players or their money.
It has always said this. You cannot advertise for a .com gambling site so they advertise PS.net/FTP.net as their play money sites and hope people switch to real.
"Fulltiltpoker.net is a play money site
and does not offer Real Money games"
???
The .net sites have never offered real money games, it's why they can advertise .net on tv and say "this is not a gambling website." This is nothing new.
