Reuters: Full Tilt Poker, Pokerstars and Absolute Poker charged with illegal gambling Reuters: Full Tilt Poker, Pokerstars and Absolute Poker charged with illegal gambling

Confirmed that the .com sites are no longer showcasing the FBI Warning message and are simply not coming up at all, not sure what that means though. Also, does anyone have any new information on the remaining Merge sites? I know Carbon Poker officially stated that their involvement with US players was not affected by the recent incidents but I fear they are next on the chopping block.

it is standard negotiating ploy to aim high @ start of negotiations. If they ask for 3bn + fines then these sites will have no incentive to play ball. They will simply have to shut shop, something even US DoJ wouldn't want before it ensures the US players can get refunded. The Party Poker guys were a PLC and they paid the fine and left the market. A similar thing will happen here (at least thats my take) with larger fines to boot

Download from this address http://www.fulltiltpoker.co.uk/ If you still can't download the update, you should first uninstall the version you currently have installed on your computer. From what i read, this works for most people. Good luck!

Part of the statement from the Full Tilt site...

Quote:
Unfortunately, as a result of this action, Full Tilt Poker has decided that it must suspend "real money" play in the United States until this case is resolved. However, Full Tilt Poker will continue to provide peer-to-peer online poker services outside of the United States.

For more information, please call +442032877138

Has anyone tried calling the number? Just curious...

Anyone who thinks these sites keep hundreds of millions in cash on their balance sheets let alone a billion is an idiot

This is not wroking, I download FT from the UK site, but it still asks me for an update, , I try to do the update, it gives me a msg to try later. How can I get that update version ?

but really boys,
does anyone else remember that couple of days ago the government almost had a shutdown because they could not agree on a budget, and you have to imagine why this illegal crackdown of billions of dollars is occuring right after Obama wants to cut trillions off the American deficit,

http://www.pokerplayernewspaper.com/...ne-poker-10315
and what is further confusing and complicating the matter is the issue of DC, where recently legislation has passed on legally allowing online real money wagers to occur within the District of Columbia, Washington DC. So in the nations capital, it is supposedly legal to play poker online............ but on what sites....

just hired a sc2 coach. poker is dead.

the us govt doesnt give a rats ass about people engaging in illegal gambling. theyre not out for your best interest, if they were they would never have brought this indictment.

just like mike vick the govt didnt care about the dogs, they cared about the profits that were not taxed.

money isnt the root of all evil. its the root of all conflict.

The message from pokerstars.eu/uk/ when you install their UK version says "Please rest assured player balances are safe. There is no cause for concern". They say they are experiencing a VERY high volume of emails from US clients, unsurprisingly.

Well I said it and now i'm going to do it.

I told everyone id move out of the US if they pull this crap and guess what thats exactly what imma do and ill be willing to bet they are gonna lose a lot more americans than just me.

Why does the american government fail at math so much this will surely hurt them more economically more then it will help them.

Jesus clearly clearly like i hear time and time again the gov is full of ****ing idiots.

Its so obvious i'm not even that smart and i know this ****.

Ill tell u what will happen a lot of americans who are devoted to poker and have jobs here will move out gain citizenship somewhere else.

thats just a piece off of the devils food cake they just made for themselves clear morons..

Oh yes lets allow 167 other things you can gamble on in the US but you can't do online gambling!!!!!

and the sad thing is they act like all of us Americans don't know whats going on as if we don't know they are doing this just so the US can benefit financially when really after all of the.

They hide behind so called laws and say those are the exact reasons why they are doing this but we all know the truth we aren't stupid...

They are idiots because once all of the variations come into play imho this move will not generate anything in money for them but instead just hurt the economy even more...

Way to go GOOD JOB on sucking at your job gov in my humble opinion i think we just need to get all new people in the white house just clean up and start again this people are clearly ******s.

...maybe it means that a bunch of people tried to login to FT/PS, couldn't, went to the website, saw the absurd msg from the Southern District of FU, started complaining and asking questions, whereupon the SDNY pulled the landing page so as to dodge the angry emails / phone calls. or, i just checked, and the images are back up. bastards.

I know 2 people personally who had postponed relocation plans to move abroad from the U.S pending anything like this happening. After speaking to them on the phone today they are now looking at permanently moving overseas to online poker friendly countries since they are both FT grinders.

Sad it has to come to this imo.
