That's quite a generalization. Drawn in by the language...you think people dont become conservative until they read an Ayn Rand novel? I'm actually drawn in by the concepts. It's common sense that people will work harder if they get rewarded for their work. It's like the pace of technology. In relative peace time, it is driven by companies that need to beat each other to market to be most profitable. Discoveries might happen in government labs, but they are slow and aren't driving real products that people buy and use. They just don't have the same incentive that the profit motive provides.

I don't get it. You're talking about free-market stuff, I'm talking about the philosophy side of Ayn Rand. I don't take much issue with the economics. We might agree on the end, but we'd disagree on the means. Probably belongs in politics though.

who even conducted that interview is painfully stupid. I honestly would like to sit down with them and just dress them down over their clearly ridiculous questions. beside the fact that he doesn't even know how to use the phrase "zero sum".

it's just unbelievably tilting to see a show put on such a pretense and try to turn this into a salacious vice that they can denounce for the good of the common man. **** them and their ****ing bull **** imposition of morality.

if they want to hammer someone who takes from society and adds nothing why don't they go talk to ****ing lebron james? that guy just signed a contract to make enough money where he could probably buy feed every starving person in africa for the next decade, and wtf does he contribue to society? oh he was born and athletic freak and people want to pay mass amounts of money to see him perform at a sport. wtf does that do to help people? what is the tangible benefit from that?

no different than poker. it is a nonessential form of luxury entertainment. no better or no worse than any other. we live in a capitalist society where we are free to indulge or profit from such ventures. poker is no different.

****ing dateline and their bull**** amateur attempt to be altruistic.

Blaine said that in regards to the what contribution question that everyone was getting on him about, that at the end he added the entertainment value of it to his answer but the producers cut that off when they showed it on TV.

Like everyone else, I think he did an amazing job given his age and how slanted the questions were.
