I wish I had won the milestone hand. F ******.

It's an angle-shoot, but there is no good way to correct it after the fact IMO.

we don't take kindly to 70 billionth hand geniuses around here!! now now skeeter, they ain't hurting nobody..

seriously... this price is a gift from pokerstars, if you think you have any "rights" or reasons to complain you're not understanding something. these guys were smart and owned it up. only if pokerstars feels this is wrong it actually can be labeled as wrong. it's their gift so..

Everyone multitable's hard for these promo's, that's why pokerstars does it but, colluding like this shouldn't be allowed imo

btw the cheaters are just laughing at anyone defending them

Am I sad I didn't win the 70k? Sure it was a freaking freeroll.
However, these players were only there to win the prize and paid no rake in doing so and by definition it is collusion against Pokerstars.

Sure none of us were "hurt" by it directly but a lot us did it the right way, and even if you were folding a lot on your tables, I bet a lot of you were playing with strangers who they themselves might have not taken the same strategy or cared to look at the hand.

So even if you folded about the 70B some jerk always screws it seems at my table lol. That I can't control since I'm not colluding and working together.

It was obvious these guys were working together and the main victim is Pokerstars.

I think the fact that there is enough of an uproar is good enough for Stars to take their funds away.

lol i remember doing this a few times a couple years ago for milestone hands before it was widely done

theres nothing vaguely wrong about doing it but it's dumb now because stars introduced that clause some time ago so we stopped.

just means when you get caught you're going to lose it and be on severe life tilt.

laughing all the way to the bank...

I'm pretty sure the "cheaters" are just saying "Hold! One Time!"

Edit: I'm not defending them per se. I can't play on PS in US so I don't care one way or another. This is not cheating though. There was no rule broken. PkerStars allows people to play 24 HU tables and that's what they did. It's against the spirit of the X billion hand promotions, but there is no hard and fast rule. Either way, I'm done with it.

How did they cheat? How much rake did you HAVE to pay before you were eligible for the 70b hand? To start making up a number after the fact is nothing but whining that you didn't hit it. What if it was the first hand someone played and hit the 70b hand. How would that be any different?

How is them not paying rake on hand 69,999,999,999 make any difference to them hitting the 70b hand? Guess what!! it doesn't.

The eventual outcome might be influenced by any evidence that they used an autofolder rather than folding manually. (if)

Assuming that the milestone hand would instantly pause the action, rather than be autofolded.

But manually folding a stack of 24 tables would still be doable.

Pretty sure they could not fold it, even if they tried.

The milestone hand is dealt, and then paused before any action. Then the celebrities show up to congratulate them all.

I agree with this, it comes down to if they had software folding for them. Probably every player aware of the promotion is likely to have folded a lot more hands than usual around the 70b mark, so simply folding playable hands pre flop is not reason enough to disqualify them. Also, playing more tables than usual is not against the rules either.

I'm also stunned at the number of people who think that this has given somehow given these players a huge edge.

The only hands that matter are right around the 70b mark - the fact they were getting more hands in during the previous hour, or previous few minutes, or 10 seconds before the billionth hand is irrelevant. All that matters is the number of hands you play right around the 70b mark, which depends on the number of tables you play. You can get a similar effect as these guys by choosing to rush through hands a few moments before the landmark hand arrives (which is easy to predict) to ensure fewer hands are 'mid-hand' when it arrives - something I am sure that almost everyone aware of the promotion did. These guys probably did have a small advantage over other players since they could do this a bit more efficiently, but I am guessing it would be more like having 1.2 lottery tickets instead of a single lottery ticket.
Not sure if it has been answered, but if they are playing 10 times faster by just folding, they are still playing 10 times faster when the milestone hand comes, so have 10 times more chance to hit it.

My thoughts exactly. Also they do not have to risk any money to get a chance to participate in the promotion. Without a partner you would loose quite a bit of money trying to 24 table HU.

Effectively this is all these guys were doing, since folding hands before or after this point has no effect on the probability of hitting the landmark. Perhaps they can do this more effectively with their method, but not by much in my opinion. I bet a bunch of people did fold hands in this way right before the landmark - that isn't cheating.
Yeah, but you would have payed rake or lost money in the hands before. Or you have to have the other player fold all his hands to, but then you are colluding.

You don't pay any rake and get the money that was paid with the rakes of every players? It's not right.

Again who says they had to pay rake prior to the 70b hand. Who decides when the cut off is for paying rake(PS, and guess what, there was none)? If someone gets on and hits 70b hand first hand they played, should they not get the promo because they weren't paying rake prior?

Honestly even if they knew each other, how were they cheating? They didn't receive vpp's for those hands, so what they did is no different than a normal 2 tabler bumping up his table count to 24 for the promo(before I hear it, yes he would be paying rake, but also receiving vpp's). If they were cheating someone out of their money or stars out of vpp's then I could understand all of this bitching. All they did was play more hands(and whose to say someone wasn't playing even more hands than these two?)

It's colluding, I think it's their fault.
