IIRC some years ago this promotion gave out x amount of dollar not based on how mch vpp u got? I think they changed that becuase peoepl did stuff like this

I don't think its right, but half the people are mad because they didn't think of doing it. Its like at the casinos I play sometimes have a drawing at the top of the hour. Theres always some old fart that locks up a seat, then walks around and sits just before the drawing, then when its over they leave again. When money is involved somebody is always gonna try and scam the system

But if they had 10 tables open, and by doing what they were as the 70b mark came around, they are pretty much free rolling pokerstars by not paying rake and cheating people out of it. I think PS should give it to the person who won the 70,000,000,001 hand since they woulda been the 70b hand.

If (I probably lean towards "when") pokerstars takes action against this I think it decreases the X billion promotion excitement. People are always going to try to angle-shoot these this. So now it's not a road to X billion, it's the road to some hand near X billion where we decide the players were playing "proper" poker -- like 9 ways all in after the hand is dealt.

What's so much more significant about exactly X billion anyway, it's just another hand. Perhaps they should look at some range of hands around that number and have a vote over which hand was played the best or most standard or take the absolute strongest hand in the range, or something silly like that.

The rule is vague so that stars can use reasonable judgement in determining whether someone if following the spirit of the promotion, without providing loopholes.

Stars has always shown itself in the past to be very reasonable with these types of situations, generally coming down against the angleshooters/colluders.

I assume that's what will happen here, because the winners weren't playing poker.

Pokerstarsblog posted the 70th billion hand and later removed the entire page. Interesting. No mention of it on their Facebook page or Twitter account. Usually they have posted stuff by now.

Stars aren't going to pay out imo, they breached the rule and are just going to not pay out and sweep it under the carpet.

Everyone knows this was a scummy move. Just some people believe it deserves punishment (taking back the money/not giving it to them if they haven't received it yet) while others do not as this was an error on PS's part.

They were just HU nits and finally found a hand that they could actually play.
