The promo its not for 2 friends to collude with sole intent of abusing the promotion. I don't know how u don't see that this is clearly cheating the system and yes PS does have rules against this if they choose to confiscate the money, they would have all right to do so (TOS, promo rules) but it seems PS doesn't want anymore bad press.

Clearly it's not if Stars decided to let them keep their money and AMEND THE RULES! Why do the rules need ammending you ask?? Because NONE WERE BROKEN!!!!

It sucks that these two players abused the promo and got rewarded 70k between them for doing so, money that should have went to someone playing normally.

Makes me sad and lose a tiny bit of respect for Stars for not enforcing their rules. But w/e they are obviously still a great site and games will continue as they were.

the real question is why were the haters playing poker for $1.47 pots when they shoulda been folding trying to hit the 70k payday ???

Because there was no rule that forbids players from folding all hands preflop, even if the sole purpose is to maximize their jackpot equity, they must be awarded the full amount. Stars can't retroactively go "oh yeah you weren't supposed to do that", the best they can do is update the rules.

Wait a minute. The goal was accomplished(getting deposits). The money is on the site. They will play with it. Be it before, during or after the promo it doesn't matter to PS, its there. You don't seem to get this.

Very shocked with stars decision I thought of all sites they would have done the right thing (imo) and relied upon the terms, confiscated the money and launched another countdown to idk 70000000777.. etc

This hardly justifies seizing and banning. It'll be interesting to see if Star's caves in to the forum hardliners or stands up to these forum bullies and does the right thing.

U don't understand the whole point of the promo is to get deposits TO PLAY POKER, having the winners win by not playing poker and cheating the system isn't the spirit of the promo.

Cry all you want about rule 8 or whatever. If PokerStars thought a rule was broken they would have taken a different course of action. There is no rule in 8 to break. It just says if PokerStars thinks you abused the promotion the have the right to penalize you.

Collusion -- no it's HU they are not colluding to win any pots from anybody else
Chip Dump -- lol no chips were really exchanged
Fraudulent Behavior -- sounds the same as abuse of promotion

PokerStars did not determine that any of these things occurred. The only thing left is the "spirit of the promotion." cry, cry, cry some more. Next time be smarter.

Be careful what you wish for as far as specific interpretations of very general rules. We've seen some other rooms over the years stand behind very general rules in specific situations and it rarely seems to be a good thing for players.

I don't see how what they did is cheating. It may be unethical but they didn't super use or steal from any other players so it isn't cheating.
