the operator has teased a $100,000 guaranteed Sunday major tournament that will be debuting soon. (1k 109 entries? sunday mil type weekly mtt?)

The operator has also unveiled it will be running a $1.5 million guaranteed Ontario Platinum Series to mark its launch in Canada’s largest province. It will run from July 10 to 18 and will only be open to Ontario players.

1.5 mil seems like alot for ontario . might be alot of big buyins to try to meet that might have to make some packages for that

They don't need to give you starscoin to give you rakeback, most chests are just direct cash these days (at least in my experience). Assume they just change it so 100% of them are for now.
yes i have no doubt in my mind the stars rewards will be better then the 2% rb I got from 888 and party lol. party seems to have good rb options for cash games only but I didnt play as much cash.

Yes Party has the best rakeback in the business, probably...I think I'm getting around 40% w/ their weekly 'boost' playing reg tables

ya but those dont work in mtts so if you play mtts your getting like 2% rb if you didn't do an affiliate deal lol. stars wouldnt do something so unbalanced between games rb should work in all games

I put in a grind today and was able to complete the challenge.

It really sucks so much that we are getting cut off from the global pool

Heres the faq
Why I'm not earning any StarsCoin?
Like the Rewards Store StarsCoin aren't available yet for Ontario License. We expect players to start earning StarCoin soon after the Ontario license launch.

nothing about having challenges yet that I can find but they do have some in the states from my research earlier in the year
Yesterday StarsCoin were converted to Cash, as on Ontario 1 StarsCoin = 0.01 CAD (rather than 0.01 USD) so we didn't want players to be left short changed. Once you migrate to Ontario you will be able to earn StarsCoin from chests and redeem those in the Rewards Store (the FAQ page needs updating).

Any unused tickets or T-Money you have will be converted to cash when you migrate

For PokerStars Rewards your progress bar and tier will carry over. If you have any unopened chests they will be opened before you migrate (we will auto open chests any unopened chests shortly, any you earn after that before you migrate you will need to open before being allowed to migrate). PokerStars Rewards will be very generous to celebrate the launch, you will see details after you migrate.

For Monthly Poker Challenges, you will only miss a few hours of the full time you had to complete them. If you are close to completion we will pro-rata credit you (we will aim to make the credits tomorrow).

Other promotions on Ontario will launch tomorrow (29th).

Did anyone try plying with hud already? Do you still have hands samples with ontario people from international pool days? How's traffic so far?

Also do they allow to get a new screen name as 888 did?

I'm at work rn and impatient af lol

Hey guys,

I want to connect with players from ON, Canada, to see how you deal with the recent legislation change that does not allow ON players to play with the rest of the world. I took advantage of PokerStars, which is still allowed to play with the global scene until June 28th; however, yesterday, I received the email indicating that I need to migrate my account to pokerstarts.ca. When I downloaded the software, I saw literally no one in Cash or MTTs tables. I am not a professional poker player, but I treat poker seriously and potentially consider becoming a pro one day. However, I can't wrap my head around this change. Therefore, I have the following questions for pros and recs:

1) How do you deal with the change? What sites are you playing right now?

2) Are you considering moving out of the province due to the regulation? If so, where?

3) Is there any way to still be able to play with the global scene? VPN? Special permission?

4) Do we have some kind of community where we can invite each other to the specific game/limits?

Thanks!

Sunday Special - $75k GTD, $100 BI. Starts at 6:00? Would have been nice to start earlier?

I've now migrated to PokerStars Ontario.

I'll give it a week or so and hopefully traffic is better as more people make the transition. Already it seems a bit better than 888/BetMGM but that isn't saying much.

End of an era. Sadly.

Yes, increases across the board (100nl went from $2.50 cap to $3.10, 200nl from $2.75 to $3.50)

That said: looks like double rakeback until August 31st (all chests are being rewarded w/ 2x value)

But for Ontario only, it'd be nice to start when the global pool "majors" do, in my opinion. No need for this tourney to go past midnight when it doesn't have to.

Ok I've migrated over and the migration process was super simple.

It will be interesting to see how the traffic is once more people have migrated over.

Anybody else having a problem with the location? I'm in the Toronto area and when I try to reg a tourney it says I have to be located in Ontario.

Well the global pool majors don't matter b/c if you're playing online in Ontario you shouldn't be playing in global pools, right

But yes, I think it would be reasonable of the sites to get together and move up the start times for the Sunday tournament to the mid-afternoon (at least)...humble brag incoming, but I played some Sundays MTTs a few weeks back and won a tournament on Party where my opponent HU sat out/blinded out b/c I assume they had to get up to go to work the next AM (tournament ended at 1/1:30am)

IIRC 888 and Party were similar at launch and the only surefire way to guarantee the site would recognize you were in Ontario is if you were connected via wifi (i.e. not wired). Are you wired in?

EDIT: it could also just be a **** up on their end that will be addressed ASAP, just make sure you bring it to support's attention

seems more likely that party location services messed up and sat him out thinking he wasn't in ontario. This has happened to me at FTs before and its super tilting.
