The idea is to regulate things and have our money stolen less often all the while making some additional revenue for the government.

Yes the volume is down but if they can move towards a Canada wide network it may not be so bad.

I'm a PLO player and so far the traffic is not great by any means but the quality of players is pretty bad so whatever.

I play for fun, not a living so that makes it easier to adjust.

yeah, there is some nonsense in there, 5max, 7max tourneys. Gonna have to play every small field event to have a shot at the 30k package I think. Oh well.

When does this series start? I won't be back in Canada until the 24th. A $300 200k gtd sounds mighty ambitious but I love the sounds of it. Or Did I misread you and it's a 1k buyin?

Try playing in apps, there is no geographical restriction on them, you can download any app from your smartphone's app store, I didn't come to advertise my clubs on pppoker, suprema poker and upoker, but it's easy for you to meet someone you trust to make deposits and looting and playing in apps.

Downside is that there is nothing "official" about this type of poker. There are no rankings, no unique nicknames for each player, tournaments are a sham, cashgame can be biased and full of collusion and bots, but it's still easy to win playing there.

Anyone having luck getting any HUD to work. PT4 wasn't working for me. I downloaded the new update and it is updating my DB, which is going on 25 hours of updating, after trying numerous other times and having to stop it at 15 hours to sleep (too hot to run PC overnight most days).

I can't get H2N to work. It pops the HUD up on the table but doesn't track hands.

HM3 support thread says it doesn't support Ontario yet.

Anyone had any luck with DriveHUD or something else?

Nah, mostly just been enjoying the experience of donking around in the dark with a bunch of fellow donks. I recommend the same.

The HM2 HUD works for me. Sometimes if I'm playing multiple sites it won't immediately show results for one of the sites on the report tab but the HUD works fine.

Heaps of US players also on the poker apps so some of them can be quite soft. Definitely some risks involved but a soft game is a soft game.

The main is today July 17th. The overlay looks to be huge.

There is no way it doesn't overlay. It's 2 days (which is a problem for us people with full time jobs) and starts at 6pm, so you're playing till like 2am.

If it started at like 1pm and broke at like 10pm that would be much better imo.

I don't know wtf stars is doing with these mtt start times, but I think the global pool MTT times were better than these for someone in EST.

I am honestly baffled by how many MTTs they have starting at 6pm or later. As a rec grinder, when I played tourneys in the global pool I would register between like 11am-3pm so if I went deep it would end by like 11pmish.

I don't want to play a 6 or 7pm tourney cause it could go to 2-3am.

Wild they are doing this

I said something in the Ontario lounge in the stars discord. Maybe other people can add their thoughts on the start times

Yeah I agree the big Sunday MTTs should be starting on all sites in the early-mid afternoon at the latest for people w/ work the next day

Starting around 6pm is fine for the daily 'majors' throughout the week

The start times are idiotic and it's the main reason I've been playing more on other sites, especially if you're like me and prefer turbos. I log in on a Sunday and there literally isn't a single turbo available until the late afternoon. There's a $50 Ontario Platinum Series turbo starting at 10pm tonight - granted it's a turbo but who the hell wants to start a tourney at 10pm on a Sunday?

So, who's playing the $150k GTD at the CNE? $120 + $30 rake lol

Also, I've never actually been to the CNE. Does anyone know if you have to buy a general admission ticket to actually go to the casino?

I thought the platinum series was awesome overall. The leaderboard was fun and it came down to the wire which for me was fun to rail. Congrats to both Birddy420 and Achen on an epic battle. Both being tied in points and being 6/6 in 2 different tourneys to end it was a sick sweat to watch.

Hopefully we get more series like this and all this stuff attracts more live tourneys to the area as well. A lot of people sour about what has happened, I was at first too. But the first month or so hasn't been that bad and like what they have done so far. Lets see if they can keep it up!

"pokerfuse also revealed that the site plans its own “COOP” series — the Ontario Championship of Online Poker (ONCOOP) — and this will have a monstrous CAD $2 million guarantee."

Excited to hear this!
