Then you should praise Americans. We blazed the way with credit cards, bank cards, debit cards, and that little thing called the Internet.

Europe was relatively slow to adopt all of the above.

Hey now, just because Al Gore invented the internet doesn't mean your whole country gets to take credit for it....

Pretty sure america was one of the slowest on debit... It was everywhere in Canada and almost nowhere in the States for years..

LOL. No ****... "We don't accept anything but a check, AND you must come into our office and do it in person." GTFO...

While you are correct, moki, I'm not sure paying your contractor via online bank draft is any easier than just cutting him a check while he's at your house, but your point still stands about checks being obsolete, obv.

I feel bad for Joe Cada. If he has an accountant, the accountant probably thought it was Joe writing those cheques, and that would explain why he wasn't analysing his own statements. Also it must be a kick in the teeth to find out your friend is a thief.

I don't really get why everyone is so passionate about cheques. In Europe people don't really use them but it seems they are more prevalent in the US. If some people find it easier to use cheques than other methods of payment like online banking, who cares? (And vice versa.)

Also Cada obviously didn't notice the chequebook was missing for some time. He probably didn't use it; but had it in case he ever needed it.

Meh. Americans who come over here don't even have Chip and Pin on their credit cards. Suckers have to do that **** with a pen to get goods and services.

And don't even talk about those sorry ass American phone networks...

Oh, no! What do I do? A woman left her child's fundraiser order form (they are selling scented candles or something) with an order form in the office break room. Next to the order form is an envelope for checks when you fill out your order. There is no information about how to make an e-payment!!! How do I contribute and avoid causing hard feelings because I did not participate in this good cause?

Agree. Even though they are kinda stone age, unfortunately they are the only thing that land lords and government will accept

brb sending cheque
in mail
waiting to receive cheque
