This works on OFC because the game is different

On OFC you want to know what is coming, you are curious about what cards you will get, you are trying fantasy land

So you do not delay because you want to see whats gonna happen

Heads up No limit Holdem is not this way, it will not work

The second screenshot at the Pokerlistings news page (the one with the friend list featuring Moneymaker and de Melo) shows 'buy-in 4500, prize pool 9000' (apparently, the buy-in plus rake was 5000)... I hope that the rake in the real money version is less than 10%.

Can anyone disclose the buy-in and the prize pool of any real money Duel that they've played?

The same page states,
Quote:
Make friends with an opponent and you can start a game. If you don’t have any friends yet you can also opt to play a random match, then add that player and challenge him again later if he accepts your friend request.
Assuming that it's possible to play a random seeker even when you have friends already, it's a cool feature allowing to get action at any time, though of course a random opponent is going to be tougher on average than the bum friend list.

It's like the automatching of Spin & Gos, where you can also suggest an opponent to join your Home Games club, but it's more awkward there and the success rate of invites must be much lower than in this social app.

Edit about bet sizing: in the Pokernews video, de Melo shows @0:27 that bets / raises can be made only in increments of 10 chips (the small blind). This is not cool because it dramatically reduces the game tree for potential 5kier-type software aids.

maybe stars does us favor with the long timebank, new players cant wait for their turn and log in the regular poker client and punt money there. just speculating obv, but i dont think duel will let you play multiple games.

Is it more fun than playing QuizUp or SongPop against a schoolkid in India?

Tried this out today, surprisingly quite fun, but man this is going to take a big chunk of recreationals off the main site.

Oh man, why is there no link to it from Stars' main site and no email ads (in Russia)? I had to dig out the direct link https://www.pokerstars.com/duel/ to see it (didn't try to download from it, though).

This is an early candidate for the stealth change of the year, dwarving iPoker's midstakes rake cap rise.

I have to run and shop for a new mobile phone tonight as the old one has a tiny screen

I think this might still be in beta testing for certain countries. I only found out about it because of an email letting me know I was eligible.

Ah OK, no worries then, it will come to Russia or Belarus in due course (well, hopefully will ).

What are the buy-ins and rake in NZ so far? The same $0.92+0.08 (only) as in Norway?

Yeah, please go ahead

I especially wonder what the circular arrow button above the betting ones does (I guess it replays the hand from the start up to the current state).

Could be that OP might be testing the waters with an open-ended comment and link to gauge whether or not the poker community will accept this, and to receive free info about what's wrong with it. Wake up people! Rage against the machine!

Many thanks, Bluffyou!

Ouch, the app is rather slow indeed. Is there an option to turn all the animations off or speed them up? What's the 'regular' mode @0:52 and what other modes are available and what's the difference?

It will be less +EV for me to play it than other games unless $10+ (better $25+) stakes are added into Duel.

Or maybe I'll play it when I'm ill and retired and can no longer grind real-time poker.

As terrible as it is, the main issue will be the intentional lack of stakes high enough

The game itself has so much less variance than jackpot SnGs, and they make it even less exciting by capping the stakes. Let people gamboool, please
