Friend works at Wynn golf club....Jordan golfed one day with a buddy...when the round is over, they go inside and grab some beers....buddy gets done cleaning clubs, etc etc...Jordan's friend gives him $100 and says thanks as he grabs his clubs, Michael grabs his clubs and stiffs him. His buddy says hey you forgot to tip him, I gave him $100...Michael says " his tip is to touch my clubs " and walks off. Apparently Michael has stiffed everytime he plays golf there.

That's a shame. I used to worship Jordan, like a lot of people. Then I found out what a dick he was.

He needs to realize something though. There are kids now who look at the 1980's and 1990's like it was the Triassic period. It's kind of like when I was a kid and would read stories about the early years of the NBA, and George Mikan, the best player of his time. Mikan wasn't a hero to me because I couldn't relate to something that happened before I was born.

With each passing year, that is becoming more evident with MJ. He used to be the sh*t, just like Doctor J was before him, and Wilt Chamberlain before him. But now Kobe and LeBron, and others, are the sh*t. Yes, Jordan is still a big star. But he'll never be what he was in the 80's and 90's, and as time passes his star will keep getting dimmer.

But I'll bet he will remain the same a-hole he always was.

I worked in the bar business and Jordan would come to this club I worked at every year and do this promotional deal or whatever. He never tipped ever and he also expected to not have to pay for anything ever. What I'm reading in this thread about his rudeness/non-tipping is exactly congruent with anything i've ever heard about/experienced with him.

i don't think this is true. and i think him being an a-hole will cement that people should always worship him... people just react like that to presumed greatness. anyway he is a god among men, it's true, and there's not much you can do to try to understand that. you know that if someone pulled a gun on jordan in a crowded bar, probably like half the bar would jump in front of the bullet.

No question that is true. But you could say that about a lot of retired star athletes. Just because Jordan is seen a god, doesn't mean he has to mistreat people.

We have a well-known retired athlete right here in town: John Elway. To me, he is everything that Jordan is not. He is known for being friendly to the fans and has always been that way (I'm told he always tips well, too). I know a guy who lived near Elway in Cherry Creek in the mid 80's. He said he and his friends would walk right up to Elway's house, knock on the door, and ask if John would come out and play. John would come out, throw the football around with them, ask them if they were doing well in school, and sign autographs for them. And from what I understand, he still treats people the same way now and that's why he is loved so much.

If Elway were in a bar and someone pulled a gun on him, you'd have plenty of people jumping in front of the bullet too. I think I would. But if someone shot Jordan, I'd probably just be thinking, "Karma."

so the nba all star game was here a couple of years ago and my dad went to play in a poker game that night and they hired a professional dealer who works at the harras casino here and does poker games for a little extra money and he said that he punched out at 8:30 pm and jordan was already 3 million dollars down

also said he was smiling and had a cigar in his mouth
