Most people, myself included, agree that it is scummy, lowlife behavior that should be castigated and pilloried. That is is *serious* crime is absolutely your opinion. If begging under false pretenses is a *serious* crime, what adjective to you use for crimes that are actually serious, such as child molestation or murder? If you think what this scumbag did ranks as a serious crime, I envy you, you must have led a very, very sheltered life free of adversity. Here's to hoping that neither you, or anyone you know, is a victim of a crime that is actually serious. Cheers.
You're confusing actual words that have quite distinct meanings. Begging/panhandling is completely different from scamming/conning. The law treats them very differently, as does every moral/ethical code that can be found in our diverse society. It's not a matter of opinion.

The difference between begging and scamming is not a matter of semantics. There is a very clear distinction, both legally and ethically, between asking people for money and deceiving people in an attempt to trick them out of money. Obviously no one thinks that scamming is as serious of a crime as murder and child molestation and that is completely beside the point.

I hate to break this to you, but you do know that the dollar that panhandler is asking you for, to pay for his bus fare home, or to buy a cup of coffee or whatever -- it probably won't actually be used on coffee or bus fare.

There are guys wearing work vests and hard hats in my neighborhood going to elderly peoples homes and introducing themselves as being from the gas company with a clipboard or whatever. Then they tell the victim that they need to step outside so that they can check on gas leaks reported in the area.

They go on to steal jewelry mostly.

I had a panhandler a few months ago approach me and he asked "Would you like to see me knock down this door?" Obviously I said yes as I thought it'd be pretty sweet to see him break a giant glass door. He proceeds to "knock" down the door and I gave him $50. This is what panhandling should be about!!!!

about ten years ago i was with my brother stuck in traffic that was not moving at all when a bum comes up to his window and asks for a dollar. my brother tells him he would give him 5 dollars if he climbs on the car ahead of him and starts dancing.
sure as **** the guy runs up the trunk of the car ahead of us, jumps on top of it and starts dancing.
someone gets out of that car, sees this bum dancing on it (the look on his face was priceless) tries to grab him and the bum jumps off, runs by my brother's window who is holding the 5 out for him, takes the 5 and runs away.

He's right. I inferred something more terrible than aggressive kissing by "took advantage."

My mistake.

And yet you still have no job, haven't looked for a job, and have no intention of ever doing so. Your case $2200 is down to what now? Don't delude yourself into thinking there's a book in you. Unsympathetic, repugnant characters aren't interest reading based on 14 years of small time airport scamming with no remorse.

I know Andy Bloch was always banned from the blackjack areas of casinos but he was still able to play poker. No idea on the other games. But that was an unusual situation in which the casino outright did not want him playing one specific game. This would be different. I'm not sure a patron could say, "please ban me from all parts of your casino... but allow me to play poker." I would guess — and it's only a guess — that when you opt for self-exclusion, you're a trespasser the moment you set foot onto the property.
When you're backed off as a card counter most casinos usually tell you you are allowed to play any game but blackjack. The nastiest ones may tell you you're barred from the casino and will be charged with trespassing if you return, especially if you've been backed off more than once. If you return, and are arrested for trespassing (after being backed off for card counting) you can get a local lawyer and sue. This usually results in a small settlement which isn't worth the time and usually doesn't cover costs.

People need to realise there are people with addictions who can still be good or bad people.

There are millions of alchoholics and drug addicts with morals who would never steal or hurt anyone. There are gambling addicts who instead borrow from loan sharks or loan companies rather than stealing from friends or families.

Having an addiction does not give you a pass for leading the life of a scumbag.

Mike plays the defensive "you don't understand" or the "I had no choice" card. As many people have stated this is all just part of his lie/scam/con.

I've read this whole thread... While I hope
Mike keeps up with the GA meetings, I have absolutely no pity for him.

Ohhhhhhhhh, sleep rape. Why didn't you just say so? No reason for you to apologize unless you are trying to get in her pants again. HIGH FIVE!

Ten years? Damn. Timeline doesn't match. Part of me thought the dancer might have been Jared Huggins.

Only convicted in the court of public opinion (as far as we know)

I think what Mullet Man in trying to say here is that sleep rape isn't really rape. If a tree falls in the forest but no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound? No.

too lazy to read......I recommend you read the entire thread....
Mullet man is not a rapist...he was an alky or something but has straightened up....
He is sticking up for psumike in a good way.
Exit 82 is possibly English and for some unnamed reason hates psumike.
PSUmike has done some lowlife things not uncommon in the poker world.
He is possibly trying to straighten up....
Gresh googles people who panhandle him at the airport.....and fights crime....
Most people agree that mikes transgressions do not rise to a criminal level...but are humorous in a sad kind of way....Lets hope he straightens up.....
