It wasn't at the airport it was in the lobby of a hotel. Said he was flying back from SFO to Pittsburgh but was diverted to LAS due to weather. Said he had not slept in 36 hours but found a room at the Ramada and just needed some money to eat and hopefully get back home. Said he was in SF for a job interview with DuPont. Showed me a Southwest Air folio and a receipt from the SFO Marriott and he has paid in cash.

He tried me in SFO a number of years ago. I thought he was pathetic but entertaining and gave him $10 to go away....

Hypothetically if GA is anything like AA some people have court ordered meetings to attend. To show the court they attended they have to carry a booklet and get it stamped and signed. With that said, No matter how many meetings Mike goes to, no matter if he gets a sponsor and if he makes amends to everyone he has harmed he will not satisfy everyone in this thread no matter how much good he will do. Like my sponsor told me many years ago: "The Pope is loved by billions yet millions of people still want to see him killed. You can't make everyone love you. All you can do is live your life to the best of your ability."

Mike biggest concerns should be taking this one day at a time, keep going to GA meetings, find a sponsor and not waste any energy on satisfying what people want on here.

And psu didn't "come clean". He tried to scam a poster here who outed him. He took that as an opportunity to try and get people here to fall for his lies and back him.

Incredibly sad story .. I give PSUmike a lot of credit for coming clean and telling his story. That's the 1st step towards getting better. Hopefully something will change for you. I wish you the best and hope you can change your life around. I don't wish this kind of misery on anyone. I also agree that this would make a good book/movie.

How do you know he is answering truthfully? There are things in this thread that suggests that he is exaggerating or lying Also, everything he posted suggests that is isn't addressing his problems, but rather soliciting sympathy and favors. It is debatable whether he could have ran away from this thread. He definitely could not have anticipated it getting this much attention but I think he started replying to change peoples' feelings from anger and outrage to disappointment with a smidgen of pity. It is like if someone exposes a burglar with clear evidence and then the burglar breaks down and cries that he did it because of his heroin addiction.

I don't know for certain that he is being truthful, I'm just giving him the benefit of the doubt because in my opinion he does seem sincere. If I am wrong so what? I've met enough people with gambling addictions and seen first hand the way those addictions destroy lives so I do hope for his sake that he is able to turn his life around. I also believe that everybody deserves a second chance and and don't believe in kicking a man when he his down.

That said, I have no problem with anyone that has been a victim of his scamming being angry and abusive towards him, he deserves that.
