Great..a girl wins the National Championship and that great moment for poker growth is going to be squashed by the importance of calling someone out. She definitely was not angling or thinking she was doing anything wrong. I agree with Charder. So, just ban her from playing online and stop talking about it. A GIRL just won the National Championship. So freaking awesome!

Loni Hardwood accomplished a Poker National Championship in the toughest field known to the Poker World.

The greatest accomplishment of any female Poker player in the history of mankind.

Could someday be the greatest of all time, male or femàle.

Considering most poker tournaments are less than 5% female, I do. There is a ton of room for growth. If a girl won the Main Event, that number could swell to 12-15%. 7-10% growth on 6420 entrants from this year is 450-770 additional etrants. In the National Championship, I believe Loni was the only girl. I didn't check all the tables. That alone made it a less than 1% chance of a girl winning on average out of 122. Meanwhile, guys had it locked up with over a 99% chance. Her winning is a huge deal and it should be celebrated. Someone discussing how to work with a group of ghosters on a global network, using remote software, taking over tournaments in late stages, etc. should be treated completely different than this.

Nope.

Poker has been mainstream for 12 years now. Women are well aware of the game and don't have much interest. There have been women on televised poker for 12+ years.

yep, this isn't 2005. Nobody really cares who wins a tournament whether it's a man, woman, gay, straight, white, black, etc

Outside of the Main Event poker is dead to the general public and that's not changing anytime soon.

Well done on her in winning it and everything, but how big is the event she won in reality? Certainly no where near the fields of EPTs, most WPTs and most bracelets. Her winning her bracelet a couple of years back was a much more meaningful achievement IMO.

This surely has to be a troll? The national championship is surely the softest 10k of the year consisting of mainly 365$ circuit regs and a few pros who buy in

Yay Loni that's great she won, but taypaur still wins the thread

There was one woman in the National Championship, and that was Loni.

And, she took it down.

The math says, all hail Loni !!!

If one of the Vanessa's one this event, this place would be ga ga.

It will be nationally televised on ESPN, August 16th. Her winning is definitely not the same as winning the Main, but it's a big deal. It's going to get mainstream exposure.

It is still an all pro field you cant get the circuit points if you have a job unless you luckbox 1 stop or a main event.

This. Not the 12 years part tho.

And what are circuit points and what are they good for?
