probably stating the obvious here. but if this was in fact an organised crime (or some sudden sabatical, who knows) police should get in contacted with/monitor his online accounts. And if someone tried/tries to acces them. Also for crossing off possibilities

Probably the police standard procedure will including informing his bank and asking them to monitor/block internet banking or ATM access etc. even across an internal EU border.

One poker-specific thing that is unlikely to be covered is his login on poker sites. I assume pokerstars are aware of the situation; but rather than 1000 pipsqueak players like me emailing them, perhaps some of the pokerstars pros following this thread could check that pokerstars/fulltilt knows they need to cover this.

The chipstack update thing is how people in English speaking countries deal with this kind of with humour. I don't know if his German friends and family would appreciate it though.

I am and afaik, there are some abandoned buildings in that area but police said they've already searched some of them. Been also staying there last summer for some time and its an area with (in my experience) quite a lot of domestic violence, but nothing of more serious nature. Certainly not people disappearing.

I've never heard about anyone going missing like that around here and its beyond strange to me.
My bet is it was either prepared or a tragic accident.

we should almost hope he got kidnapped.. obv better than finding him dead in the river.. if he got kidnapped he can still be found alive..

also.. is it likely that he was sooo drunk at 10pm that something really strange would happen (river)?

if it was organized crime they might have used a woman to get him to leave his friends and then attacked him in the (dark) side street or whatever..

and i dont really think they would transfer his online poker funds.. just way too easy to track and everything..

they might have made him cash out everything and now theyre keeping him to get the money at a bank or something (which likely wouldnt work either)..

just a sick story.. maybe he got somehow killed by accident and the other person panicked and hid his body (maybe even took it home.. i know.. weird stuff im thinking.. but its a really weird story too )

just hope he went to the mountains and broke a leg and is now trying to get back to the city..

Super intesive action going on someone in the forest responded when friends called out for him by name in english with german acent : "i m here , i m hungry" then vanished when they went to look in direction of the sound but there was noone, so exstensive search is goin on now..helicopters again lots of police with lots of dogs.. Lets hope for the best , i ll keep u updated..
